10 Best Laptop For Cyber Security 2022 – Reviews & Guide
If you plan on going into cyber security, then the best laptop for cyber security is the one that can handle all of the programs and operating systems that you need.
Depending on what kind of cyber security work you want to do, there are several different jobs out there to consider. For example, if you want to be a penetration tester, then you will need a laptop that can run the tools required to perform your job.
On the other hand, if you want to be a malware analyst, then you will need a laptop with virtualization software so that you can run different operating systems and programs.
The great thing is that almost any laptop can run these tools but it depends on how much power your laptop has. If you get an old laptop with low specs, then it may lag when running these programs which is why it’s important to get one with high-end specifications.
Spending extra money on getting a good quality machine will pay off in the long run because it can help increase productivity and efficiency when working in cyber security.
A computer is an essential part of cybersecurity, but not just any computer will do. A good laptop for cybersecurity should have the processing power to run applications, a large monitor to view information, and a sufficient battery life to last through busy days.
The laptop for cybersecurity will vary based on personal preference and the specific tasks you’ll be performing. In general, however, a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is recommended. Many laptops also come with additional security features such as fingerprint scanners or facial recognition software that can help hackers stay fast and secure.
How much RAM do I need for cyber security?
If your goal is to get a job in cyber security as an analyst or penetration tester, then you’ll be using multiple tools every day. In that case, I’d recommend at least 16 GB of RAM, although 32 GB would be even better.
If your goal is to learn about cyber security with the goal of maybe getting a cyber security job one day, then 8 GB of RAM should be more than enough.
Is Macbook good for cybersecurity?
Yes, MacBook is good for cybersecurity. The MacOS has been engineered to be and has been very stable over the years. It is an operating system that just runs, enabling you to focus on the work that you need to do. In addition, it comes with lots of apps that are useful for cybersecurity professionals.
The main reason Macs are more secure is because they are less popular. They are less popular because they are more expensive, which means fewer people can afford them. Fewer people using Macs means fewer targets for malware authors to attack.

16GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory for full-power multitasking; 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD Save files fast and store more data
The RAM and SSD are important features of this laptop. RAM is better for multitasking, so if you have many tabs open and are running apps, the 16GB can help handle more data at once. The 512 GB NVMe SSD stores your files, and it’s faster than a regular hard disk drive (HDD). It can also hold more data than an HDD. If you work with very large files or like to store a lot of photos or videos, then the 512GB is good.
In addition to this capacity, you’ll want to make sure that the type of memory used in the laptop is DDR4 instead of DDR3. This newer type uses less energy and has a higher bandwidth–which means that it can transfer data faster from one place to another within the computer. This makes it ideal for laptops because they often have limited power sources.”
With massive amounts of storage and advanced communication power, PCI-e SSDs are great

- 16GB RAM upgrade included in price

Drawbacks
The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 may not be for everyone. If you’re in the market for a high-end gaming laptop, this is not the one for you. However, if you want something to use regularly and reliably, then look no further. It’s fast, has solid features, and is suitable for working from home or in an office environment!
However, there are a few drawbacks of the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 that we should mention: The fan can get noisy sometimes. Also, it’s not great for heavy gaming. And it can overheat if left on for a long time without being moved. We recommend getting a cooling pad or stand to place underneath it so that doesn’t happen too often!
2.Dell XPS 13 (9310)
Series | XPS 13 |
Brand | Dell |
Specific Uses For Product | Multimedia, Personal, Business |
Screen Size | 13.4 Inches |
Operating System | Windows 10 Pro |
You may have heard of the Dell XPS 9310, Intel Core i7-1165G7 X4 2.83GH, but what does it do? Is it a gaming laptop? A productivity laptop? An affordable option for students and other consumers?
The Dell XPS 9310 is not a gaming laptop. While you can use the Dell XPS 9310 to play games at casual settings, this laptop is primarily intended for work and productivity. The Dell XPS 9310 is also not an affordable option; this ultra-thin and lightweight device has a touch screen, so if you want all the bells and whistles without compromising on performance or portability, then this might be the right choice for you.
Processor Manufacturer: Intel
You’ll find the processor manufacturer to be Intel. Headquartered in California, this company is traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol INTC and is currently the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer. Founded in 1968, Intel has been around for over 50 years, which means they’ve had plenty of time to perfect their craft and continue manufacturing processors that last a long time! You can trust that you’re getting a powerful processor with an Intel logo on it.
Processor Type: Core i7
The Core i7 processor is a brand name used by Intel for the central processing units it manufactures. The processors are based on either the Nehalem, Westmere, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell or Skylake microarchitectures. The most significant addition to Core i7 was Hyper-Threading technology (HT), which allows each core to handle two simultaneous threads of execution; thus an 8-threaded CPU could process 16 parallel processes and threads at once. First generation of Core i7 CPUs have 4 cores and can process up to 8 threads simultaneously due to this HT technology.
Processor Generation: 11th Gen
Intel 11th Generation Core processors are code-named “Tiger Lake” and are Intel’s first 10nm processor. It brings a brand new architecture built for the future of computing. It delivers breakthrough performance improvements and 4x faster AI compared to previous generations, while retaining the same power envelope.
Processor Model: i7-1165G7
(The processors are designed to operate using the minimum and maximum power levels as specified by Intel or the Envelope specifications for that processor family.) The power consumption is calculated by adding up the power consumption of all components within a notebook.
Processor Speed: 2.80 GHz
A processor’s speed, also known as clock speed, usually refers to the speed of the computer’s central processing unit (CPU). It is typically measured in gigahertz (GHz), with a higher number indicating faster processor speeds. The CPU acts as the “brain” of a computer, and performs calculations that enable programs to run.
Maximum Turbo Speed: 4.70 GHz
You’re already looking at a laptop that’s packed to the gills with features, but if you want a machine that will chew through your daily tasks with haste and grace, you should definitely take a second look at the Dell XPS 9310. This slim and lightweight dual-screen laptop from Dell has high resolution 1080p IPS touch screens, Intel Core i7-1165G7 processors for some serious processing power, 16GB of RAM for multitasking and plenty of room to store files and media. It also has an extremely long battery life — around 30 hours! And what’s even more impressive is that this model has Windows 10 installed so your needs are taken care of with automatic updates and lots of useful software settings.
Cache: 12 MB
A 12 MB level 3 cache allows the processor to store frequently used data and instructions so that they are immediately available when a program needs them.
The more cache a computer has, the faster it can operate.
64-bit Processing: Yes
Generally, a 64-bit processor is more capable than a 32-bit processor because it can handle more data at once. A 64-bit processor can store more computational values, including memory addresses, which means it’s able to access over four billion times the physical memory of a 32-bit processor.
Also, a 64-bit processor can each process more data at once than a 32-bit processor. In addition to allowing Windows 10 Pro to handle large amounts of RAM more efficiently, this feature also allows apps to access larger sets of data for faster processing.
Hyper-Threading: Yes
Hyper-Threading, or HyperThreading, is a feature that allows a single processor to work on two threads at the same time, which increases the efficiency of the processor.
The number of cores and threads will determine how fast your computer can run. A Core i7 with 4 cores and 8 threads is going to be able to run more processes than an i5 with 4 cores and 4 threads.
Memory Standard Memory: 16 GB
You’ll be ecstatic with the 16GB RAM. What is RAM? It’s your laptop’s short-term memory. The more a computer has, the quicker it can run programs such as graphics and video editing software, or CAD design applications. But beware: if you’re planning on buying extra amounts of RAM, check the manufacturer’s specifications to make sure that your laptop supports it and will work optimally with it.
The microSD card slot is also an exciting feature of this model. You can expect to store up to 512 GB of data on this card. This will give you ample space for files like pictures or documents which are important for school projects or work-related tasks.
There’s no optical drive in this laptop, so you won’t have access to CDs or DVDs with your media collection unless someone else has one handy nearby (or you connect an external optical drive).
Memory Technology LPDDR4x
LPDDR4x (Low Power Double Data Rate 4x) is an improvement on LPDDR4 and is a low-power memory standard used in mobile devices. It has improved data transfer rates and is the first to support double data rate transfers on all channels.
This Dell laptop is fast and powerful with a very high resolution screen
Summary:
- This Dell laptop is fast and powerful with a very high resolution screen.
The Specs:
- 13.4″ UHD+ touch display (3840 x 2400), Intel Iris Xe graphics, and a 1.1 GHz 11th gen Intel i7 processor, 16GB of memory, and 512GB SSD storage
- Ultra thin at 0.39 inches thick and only 2.8 lbs
- Backlit keyboard with fingerprint reader built into the power button, Windows Hello face recognition webcam, 4 speakers tuned by Waves MaxxAudio Pro
- 360 degree hinge allows it to be used in laptop or tablet mode and everything in between such as studio or tent mode. Two Thunderbolt 4/USB-C ports for charging, docking or connecting to monitors or other accessories, 1 headphone/microphone combo port
Pros and Cons
Pro: The Dell XPS 9310 is a highly attractive laptop. It has great specs and will handle basically any task you throw at it.
Con: Because of the high resolution, you might not be able to run certain games.
Pro: The very high resolution screen will look amazing for movies and photos, as well as for doing creative work like graphic design or video editing.
Con: The sound quality on this laptop is not the best, so playing music or watching videos can be annoying. It doesn’t have a headphone jack either!
Drawbacks
Let’s get one thing straight: the Dell XPS 9310, Intel Core i7-1165G7 X4 2.83GH is a sleek, sexy laptop with a simple yet attractive design. Its keyboard has good key travel, and its touchpad is big and responsive.
It also has a super-sharp InfinityEdge display and powerful speakers that pump out booming audio. The computer can handle all your everyday tasks with ease thanks to its Intel Core i7 CPU with 16GB of RAM, and it offers longer than average battery life
But there’s no ethernet port or SD card slot—a drawback for productivity users seeking expansion options. It doesn’t have any USB Type-A ports or Thunderbolt 4 ports either, so you better have an adapter if you want to use legacy dongles or peripherals. You’ll need another laptop if you’re looking for webcam privacy shutter or biometrics, as the XPS 9310 doesn’t have that equipment built in. And while its Thunderbolt 3 port enables fast data transfers and video output support for up to two 4K monitors at 60Hz, it lacks HDMI connectivity.

Good choice if you need a reliable laptop that can take a beating while traveling due to its solid construction. Most laptops will struggle in low-light gaming environments due to their poor screen quality and bad keyboards; however, the ThinkPad E15 is perfectly suited for this type of game environment as it has both an excellent keyboard and high-quality display panel (1080p).
- This laptop also includes Wi-Fi6 support so you can connect wirelessly without having any cables running through your home office space. The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 Home & Business Laptop is perfect for anyone looking for an affordable workstation that won’t break down on them anytime soon!
- The pros: it’s really fast (faster than my desktop computer) because there’s nothing else going on inside besides RAM memory chips which means when you close out an application they disappear from RAM immediately – no more waiting around while things shut down slowly over time like with other computers I’ve had before being able to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down dramatically as some people report experiencing .
Drawbacks
The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 Home & Business Laptop is a very good laptop that has the following drawbacks:
- The cost of the device may be too high for some users, but if you can afford it, this laptop is worth buying.
- It’s not a gaming computer – there are better laptops to choose from if you’re looking for a gaming laptop.
- It’s not as small as some other laptops on the market – it measures 9.7 x 14.48 x 0.75 inches and weighs 5 pounds, which makes it heavier than most other laptops available today
- Although this laptop has an 8th-generation processor and 16 GB RAM, it does not have enough power to run games at high settings with 60 FPS (frames per second). This makes it less than ideal for gamers who want smooth gameplay without lags or stutters on their machine
5.New Apple MacBook Pro
Model Name | MacBook Pro |
Brand | Apple |
Specific Uses For Product | Multimedia, Personal, Business |
Screen Size | 16 Inches |
Operating System | Mac OS |
The new MacBook Pro is Apple’s premier laptop computer. The 16-inch model is the largest and most powerful notebook that Apple has ever made. With stunning Retina display, Touch Bar, and fast performance, the 16-inch MacBook Pro gives you all the power you need to work, play, and create.
The ninth-generation 6-Core Intel Core i7 Processor can Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz while still delivering up to 11 hours of battery life. A brilliant and vibrant Retina display featuring True Tone technology for a more true-to-life viewing experience; go ahead – take it outdoors!
See all details for Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, 16GB RAM, 512GB Storage) – Space Gray
recommend the space gray color, because it’s a classic and will never go out of style. This is a great laptop for business people who travel frequently and need something that can keep up with them. The 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage are ideal for storing all of your important files, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.
Size: 16GB RAM
16GB of memory is plenty for the vast majority of ordinary computer users—and it’s definitely enough for professional work. It’s currently the most common configuration sold to business customers, too. If you like gaming, doing graphics work or editing tons of video and music, that much memory will let your system run much faster than if you had 8GB (or less).
Color: Space Gray
You can choose between “Space Gray” (basically, the black version) and the standard silver. The former is nicer in our opinion. While it’s more expensive, we think it’s worth the extra money for most people.
Style: 1TB Storage
The 1TB Storage option is best suited to the casual or light user. It has just enough space to hold a decent amount of media and documents, but it’s not likely to be enough for those who have massive libraries of photos and videos, or those who consistently work with very large files (for example, 4K video editing).
With 2TB Storage, you’ll enjoy a configuration that strikes an excellent balance between price and capability. This is the choice of many professionals who value performance above all else.
There are few tasks that 4TB Storage can’t handle. You’ll be able to store countless apps, documents, photos, videos and more without any issues whatsoever. While it will add some extra cost over other options, the peace of mind you’ll experience from having so much storage room is priceless in its own way.
Verified Purchase
Purchased for my adult son as a birthday gift. He does some very high level work on his laptop, and this one is amazing. Lightweight, easy to use and navigate, fast access to programs and internet. Super easy to load all of his must have programs and apps.
Wouldn’t change anything! The screen is beautiful!
Easy to set up if you understand how Apple works!
This laptop is OVERKILL in the best way possible.
Laptops with 16-inch screens are usually known for their power, but man, is this thing ever a beast. The new six-core i7 and eight-core i9 processors are almost overkill for any video editing or rendering tasks you throw at them, even with the new AMD 5500M and 5600M graphics cards (these will only be available on the higher end models). The full-sized keyboard is great.
After using chiclet keys for so many years, typing on this keyboard feels like a dream. The Touch Bar is still an unnecessary gimmick that I can’t imagine spending extra money for when there’s still no good way to use it without touching the screen. It’s not that it doesn’t work—it works fine—but it doesn’t really add much value over using standard function keys.If you choose to upgrade to 32GB of RAM, keep in mind that you won’t be able to use all four memory slots because of how the hardware works inside.
The display is absolutely gorgeous.

It’s gorgeous.”IF YOU LIKED THIS POST, CHECK OUT: The Best Credit Cards For Travel Rewards Back To Top
The speakers are loud and decent for a laptop
The speakers on the MacBook Pro are excellent and loud. They’re plenty loud enough to fill a small room without distortion. The sound quality is great as well, good enough to be used for listening to music while you’re moving around the house, but they don’t get quite as loud or sound as rich as a dedicated speaker system.
These speakers aren’t quite good enough for gaming, but they’ll do just fine for YouTube and watching movies. A couple of times when I had friends over and we were watching TV in my bedroom, we didn’t even bother hooking up the surround sound speakers because the laptop’s volume was sufficient—and that’s with all four of us sitting in a medium-sized bedroom with the door closed.
Those who have bought this laptop have been impressed by its speakers:
I love everything about this Macbook except for one thing: it is not upgradable! You can’t upgrade the RAM or storage space on it—if you want more storage space you have to pay an extra $100 during purchase time. That said, I don’t mind paying that extra $100 because this computer has 16 GB RAM (which is insanely fast), super powerful processor, excellent sounding loudspeakers (very important!), good trackpad, very nice keyboard etc…

There are 6 speakers total (2 tweeters and 4 woofers) all tuned by the legendary sound engineers from Bowers & Wilkins.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro brings a new class of performance to the notebook. Thanks to a more advanced thermal design, the Intel Core i9 processor with up to 8 cores and 16 threads of processing power sustains higher performance for longer periods of time — and delivers up to 2.1 times the performance of a quad-core MacBook Pro. So whether you’re layering dozens of tracks, compiling thousands of lines of code or rendering effects in 3D, you’ll be doing it in no time flat.
Great Laptop, Great Company
Available in silver, space grey and gold, the new thinner and lighter MacBook Pro features a brilliant Retina display with True Tone technology, Touch Bar and Touch ID, a 10th-generation Intel processor, powerful Radeon Pro discrete graphics and fast SSDs – all in an elegant aluminium design. And with up to 11 hours of battery life on the 13-inch model and 10 hours on the 16-inch model, MacBook Pro is a great choice for all-day work or school.
The world’s best pro notebook delivers cutting-edge performance.
With 8‑core processors for up to 5x faster performance, the 16‑inch MacBook Pro brings a whole new class of performance to the notebook. Now equipped with up to 64GB of superfast memory and up to 8TB of storage, it’s more than ready for large projects like building games, compiling apps or editing multiple streams of 4K video.
The world’s best pro display just got even better.
Featuring bright LED backlighting and a high contrast ratio, the Retina display delivers deep blacks and bright whites. Its large pixel aperture and variable refresh rate make it power efficient too. So no matter where you are rewatching your favourite episode or drafting that paper – you’re sure to have an engaging viewing experience wherever you go!
Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Passive cooling method. This laptop uses thermal paste instead of a fan, and so it’s super quiet.
- Formatting is easy. The keyboard is in the same place as my MacBook Air, so switching between them is a breeze.
CONS:
- Battery life is short. If you forget your charger at home, you can expect to get about 3 hours out of this laptop before it dies on you.
Drawbacks
You should know that a MacBook Pro isn’t the right choice for everyone. If you’re looking for the most powerful laptop on the market, then look elsewhere. Although it has a lot of power, this model can be outmatched by Windows laptops with more options for components. It’s also rather expensive compared to other Apple laptops.
However, if you’re a macOS user and want something more powerful than an Air or a 13-inch Pro, then this is the best choice for you. For those who really like having touchscreens (those weirdos), there are other options from Microsoft, Google, and Huawei that have both touchscreen and pen support.

Specs
You want a laptop that can keep up with your busy schedule and play the games you love. You need a Razer Blade Stealth 13. The Razer Blade Stealth is designed to deliver incredible performance in an ultraportable form factor.
The Blade Stealth features the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 4-Core processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics, plenty of memory and blazing fast storage options, housed in a beautiful CNC aluminum chassis.
Work or play, the Razer Blade Stealth 13 is ready for action anywhere you are.
Display Details
- A 4K touch-enabled display with a glossy finish offers sharp details and vivid colors while you surf the web, write e-mails, and watch videos. It also supports high dynamic range (HDR) content to deliver richer colors for a more immersive viewing experience.
- The 13.3″ screen features a 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 resolution, a 100% sRGB color gamut, and support for high dynamic range (HDR) content to deliver richer colors. The 100% sRGB color gamut provides more accurate colors so that blacks are deeper and whites are brighter for exceptional contrast when editing photos or watching your favorite movies. The anti-glare coating helps reduce eyestrain from screen glare in brightly lit environments. It also supports up to four external displays via Thunderbolt 3 over USB Type-C at resolutions up to 5120 x 2880 (5K) at 60 Hz or 3840 x 2160 (4K Ultra HD) at 60 Hz when using both Thunderbolt 3 ports simultaneously.
Model
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is the latest iteration of the popular Razer ultrabook lineup. This Ultrabook boasts a sleek, black-and-green aluminum unibody design with a 4K touch screen, Intel Core i7 processor, and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. It’s also equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD (PCIe M.2) for ultrafast storage speeds and seamless multitasking capabilities.
Razer Blade Stealth 13 Ultrabook Laptop: Intel Core i7-8565U 4-Core, NVIDIA GeForce MX150, 13.3″ 4K Touch Display, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – CNC Aluminum – Chroma RGB Lighting – Thunderbolt 3 Compatible – Black
Computer Memory Type
The memory technology used in the system’s RAM (Random Access Memory). DDR4 is the successor to DDR3, which itself is a continuation of the DRAM technology most commonly used in computers since its inception. The main difference between each generation of RAM is its signal rate, with each successive generation becoming faster than the last. Other specifications, such as signal voltage and physical layout, remain largely unchanged or are simply improvements on their predecessors.
Hard Drive Rotational Speed
This is a writeup of the hard drive rotational speed for the laptop. You get 512 GB of storage space, but you don’t want to store any kind of important or sensitive data. I recommend this laptop because it has lots of good specs, and its hard drive rotational speed is 5400 RPM. If you buy this laptop, you’ll be getting an SSD that’s NVMe and stores 512 GB.
Intel Core i7-8565U 4-Core
The Intel Core i7-8565U 4-Core Processor puts together a lot of computing power into a small package. This processor’s 1.8 GHz base frequency flies up to 4.6 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, so you can get the perfect amount of computing speed for any task (gaming, web browsing, or just keeping track of your daily schedule).
The 8 MB cache and 4 cores are there to ensure that this laptop will meet your needs for years to come—and if you need less power right now, you can always downgrade later on! Between its Intel UHD Graphics 620 and 4 GB LPDDR3-2133 SDRAM, this processor is right at home in intensive applications like video games and 3D modeling programs.
Chroma RGB Lighting
- Chroma RGB Lighting: Whether you’re in the mood for electric blue, pastel pink, or signature Razer green, you can now illuminate your Razer Blade Stealth 13 laptop with Razer Chroma™. Featuring 16.8 million colors and a suite of lighting effects, our iconic gaming peripheral brand allows you to personalize your laptop exactly as you want it.
- Individually Backlit Keys: Our keyboard features individually backlit keys with 16.8 million color options, all easily set through Razer Synapse 3. A custom designed single-zone keyboard offers optimal key spacing for faster actuations while being quiet and comfortable to use.
Thunderbolt 3
- Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C connector, but not all host connections and cables with USB-C connectors support Thunderbolt 3. For example, although many native USB-C ports support the power delivery that makes it possible to charge laptops, the speed of the connection doesn’t exceed 10 gigabits per second, even if you use a cable with an e-marked chip.
- A connection with a maximum data transfer rate of 10 gigabits per second is known as USB 3.1 Gen 2. When you see the “Thunderbolt” logo on the port or cable, it means that it supports the much faster 40 Gbps transfer speed of Thunderbolt 3 (up to 8x faster than USB 2.0).
A laptop for work and play
You can use your Razer Blade Stealth 13 gaming laptop for work, play and everything in between. Whether you need to create or edit content, work on a spreadsheet or a presentation, or just stream the latest entertainment from Netflix or Hulu, it will exceed your expectations and make computing more enjoyable.
Pros and Cons
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is, in a word, gorgeous. It’s sleek, it’s sophisticated, and its Chroma RGB lighting is an incredible improvement over the company’s previous generation of Blade laptops. The tall screen looks great in all directions, and the four speakers produce crisp highs and deep lows with ample bass response.
I ran my usual setup tests to see how it performed—and it did pretty well overall even at this relatively high resolution on the 4K display—but if you’re looking for more robust gaming performance, you’ll want something with a dedicated graphics card instead of relying on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU.

Pros and Cons of Lenovo Yoga C740
The Lenovo Yoga C740 is a slim, lightweight 2-in-1 that offers a comfortable keyboard and a vivid 1080p display. Its battery life is long enough to handle your workday on the go and its webcam is a huge improvement over its predecessor, but overall it’s not worth the price when compared to other laptops in this range.
- Pros:*
- The Yoga C740 has an attractive design and is easy to carry around with you every day
- It has good battery life that will get you through most of your workday unplugged
- Its screen has accurate color reproduction and wide viewing angles which makes it easy to share content with others
Drawbacks
The following drawbacks of the Lenovo Yoga C740 must be acknowledged:
- No optical drive – your music and movie library will only be accessible via streaming services or other online means.
- No thunderbolt support – this means that external hardware is limited to lower speeds than would otherwise be possible with a thunderbolt port.
- No memory card reader – if you want to import photos, videos, or music from a memory card, you’ll need a separate device in addition to this laptop.
- No ethernet port – there’s no way to connect directly to an ethernet line for increased speed or security. You will have to buy an adapter separately and use wifi instead.
- Not upgradable – the components of this laptop are not designed for easy upgrades, so it’s best to consider its capacity as fixed rather than expandable.
- 256GB SSD storage – given that most people have more than 256GB of data on their computer already, it’s likely that you’ll have to delete some content in order to use this laptop
8.ASUS ZenBook 13
Series | ASUS ZenBook |
Brand | ASUS |
Screen Size | 13.3 Inches |
Operating System | Windows 10 |
Human Interface Input | Keyboard |
ASUS has been playing with the idea of making ultra-portable laptops since 2011. It’s interesting, in a way, because most of ASUS’ portable laptops were based on traditional designs and were fairly thick. For example, one of these laptops had a 15.6″ touch display and weighed over 4kg (8 pounds). Since then, ASUS has changed the design ethos from the traditional laptop to a more minimalistic edgier look that is popular today—a nice change in philosophy to say the least.
The ZenBook 13 is a great example of this new design ethos. The laptop is only 8mm thin at its thinnest point (its display) alone! It features an all-metal unibody design and also eschews some high-end features such as different types of RAM or fast storage solutions. However, it does include some interesting features such as their SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port their SonicMaster virtual surround sound technology built into the speaker grilles on either side of the keyboard, and their exclusive ASUS AuraSync RGB lighting effects that can be synced to other compatible hardware via an online interface.

With a starting price of $799.99 USD, this laptop is both affordable and competitively priced compared to similar models from other brands such as Dell or Alienware. In addition to its comparatively low price point, this laptop has several unique features that make it stand out among similar models available on Amazon.
Pros and Cons
This laptop is no joke. It has a strong intel processor, good storage and memory, a nice screen size and resolution, and excellent ports. It’s lightweight (2 pounds) yet feels solid in construction. Additionally, it has exceptional battery life—a full charge can last for up to 17 hours of use! Overall, it works very well.
On the other hand, there are some drawbacks:
- This laptop is priced a bit high at $1,299—although you’re getting high quality components for that price.
- The Type-C charger only gets you about 30% charge when used for 30 minutes if the battery is completely drained. To fully charge the laptop would take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This does seem excessive to me given that most devices I own will be significantly higher than 30% charged after only half an hour of charging time when totally empty of charge.
Drawbacks
Although this laptop has many benefits, it also has some drawbacks. For example, it does not have a CD drive. This means that you will be unable to play CDs on the laptop, although you can connect an external CD player to the laptop if desired. The laptop also has a small disk drive which may not accommodate all of your storage needs.
However, since the laptop does have an SD card reader slot, you could purchase an additional SD card for increased storage if needed. These are some of the negative aspects of this product; however, its many positive features outweigh these potential minor inconveniences.

6th Generation Intel Skylake Core i7 Processor
Skylake is codename of the brand new 14nm micro-architecture of Intel’s latest 6th generation processors. Based on this architecture, the new mobile processor is slightly optimized at a 14nm level and offers improved performance and decreased power consumption. As compared with its predecessor Broadwell, its performance has been greatly improved.
8 GB DDR4. GTX 970M
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5 graphics memory
NVIDIA Optimus technology
The Alienware 17 also features an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5 graphics memory, which allows you to play the latest games on high settings. NVIDIA’s new Maxwell architecture has been engineered to be the most advanced GPU ever made, giving you incredible levels of gaming realism, speed and power efficiency.
Nvidia G-SYNC ready for smooth gameplay
The Alienware 17 supports a new display technology called Nvidia G-Sync that delivers incredibly smooth and fast gameplay by synchronising the display refresh rates to the GPU in your graphics card. This means that you get lower input latency and reduced screen tearing (which often plagues fast-paced games). It also enhances the gaming experience by supporting up to 120Hz refresh rates on a Full HD (1080p) panel.
1 TB HDD Storage; Optical Drive Not included
While you may assume that a $1400 laptop must be on the cutting edge of hardware, you’d be wrong in this case. Alienware uses a 1 TB hard drive with a 5400 rpm spindle speed to store programs and data. This is consistent with a well-constructed laptop, but it does lack the speed and capacity of SSD drives found on other laptops like the Razer Blade Pro.
The Alienware 17 comes with Windows 10 Home Edition pre-loaded and running smoothly on its Gen 6 Intel i7 processor. The integrated graphics core is capable enough for browsing or YouTube videos, but the GTX 970m can easily handle any game you throw at it, including 4k resolution games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Its design also adds to its impressive performance by adding programmable buttons above the keyboard that change functions based on what program is currently in use. They light up when in use making them easy to find as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
17.3 Inch FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LED-lit Truelife Screen
This laptop comes with a 17.3-inch screen that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, making it one of the most powerful and awe-inspiring screens on the market. This screen is back-lit by LED lights and features Truelife technology, which increases its clarity while still preserving its accuracy. Not only can you see everything clearly, but you can be sure that what you’re seeing is an accurate depiction.
Windows 10 Home Operating System; Epic Silver Chassis
With Windows 10 Home – get the best combination of Windows features you know and new improvements you’ll love. Instantly familiar, yet entirely fresh, it’s a brand new PC gaming experience built by NVIDIA.
Epic Silver Chassis
The Alienware 17 is lighter and thinner than any 17″ laptop we’ve created before, but that doesn’t mean we skimped on performance. It’s crafted with aerospace-inspired carbon fiber filled surfaces that add stiffness and durability, and copper heat sinks that enable proper cooling.
High-end features include stunning sound via Klipsch speakers and optional quad-core 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 K-series processors combined with dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M graphics or a single NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M graphics card so you can game at the highest settings for as long as possible.
The specs of this product are consistent with a well-constructed laptop.
The specs of this product are consistent with a well-constructed laptop. You will not find a better built laptop for the price. It is durable, efficient, and performs well under most circumstances. With regular care, you should be able to use it for years to come.
This computer can handle your daily tasks with ease and still have enough power left over to play games (if that’s what you’re into). The battery life is also excellent – an important feature in a laptop.
If you’ve been thinking about getting a new laptop, this one is definitely worth considering.
Pros and Cons
For gamers
Alienware systems are widely known as the gaming kings. This is a masterfully crafted laptop with a design that is sure to appeal to gamers, which happens to be one of the best designed units with components that are made for the gamer who needs the most power possible in order to maximize their gaming experience. It has an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics card. However, it’s not only for people who play video games all day long.
For entertainment
Although this laptop was built for gaming, it is also great for people who love to watch movies and stream videos online. It has a bevy of ports including three USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader and even a DVD-RW drive if you want to install software or watch your favorite movie on DVD. The 17″ screen has Full HD resolution which means full 1080p resolution and LED backlight as well as IPS display technology which will give you crystal clear images from any angle without much color loss regardless of whether you’re playing games or watching movies – this makes it great for entertainment purposes too!
Drawbacks
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M graphics chip is decent, but underpowered to play games smoothly on the native resolution (1,920 by 1,080 pixels) in high or ultra-high settings. The battery life isn’t very long either. You’ll be lucky to make it through a three-hour movie before reaching for the charger.
That’s not surprising considering that this notebook weighs 10 pounds and requires serious cooling power to run its hardware components at top speeds. But even when it’s idle, the machine can get loud.
