The problem is that this isn’t just a travel laptop—it’s also an entertainment machine suited for watching movies or playing games all day long. I mean hellooooooo! This thing has an Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU inside of it! Why would anybody buy this expensive-ass laptop if they weren’t going to take advantage of its power?

Unfortunately for us Dell XPS 15 owners there just isn’t a way to use this graphical horsepower without it being attached to a charger (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying an ultraportable computer in the first place), so you’re gonna be stuck with some pretty low numbers no matter what you do unless/until someone comes up with some miracle solution like hacking into Dell itself and altering its code base or something along those lines because production issues aren’t something that can be fixed with software updates alone.

Webcam placement – I’ll be honest, this doesn’t bother me but some people might find the location of the webcam to be an annoyance and I do understand why they would feel that way!

Drawbacks

If you don’t want to be chained down to a wall socket, this laptop is not for you. For whatever reason, Dell decided to include a 94-watt-hour battery with the XPS 15 9560 that is only capable of getting less than 6 hours of normal usage. Other brands have been able to fit 80-watt-hour batteries in thinner laptops that have better performance and battery life than the XPS 15 9560. The worst part is that it takes around 3 hours using the included power brick to fully charge the laptop which means you can’t get quick charges by plugging and unplugging your charger just before heading out.

The starting price for one of these bad boys would require selling off your firstborn child and then taking out two mortgages on your house. If you are planning on purchasing one, go ahead and start digging those holes at the bottom of your backyard now because they need time to settle in before burying all of those bodies later.

Professionals who do photo or video editing should never buy an Apple laptop because they don’t support SD cards that are used in cameras and drones; however, Dell has taken a page from their book by not including an SD card slot on this machine (there is a microSD card slot inside the same port as your SIM). Display: By far one of the most important aspects to consider when buying a laptop, and this one doesn’t disappoint. This is an excellent display, with a modern design and good picture quality. It has a 144Hz refresh rate, wide viewing angles, and even though it’s not calibrated ex-factory (it’s very close), it still shows great color accuracy for daily use.
Performance: This laptop is great for gaming, thanks to its GeForce 2070 graphics processor (GPU). You can run popular games such as Fortnite at full HD resolution and max settings, resulting in smooth frame rates between 50fps – 60fps. The Intel Core i7 CPU is powerful enough for multitasking and light tasks such as photo editing.
Design: Gaming laptops tend to look like robots that have been chewed up by dogs made of spikes, but this machine looks more like a sleek sports car than anything else. The Razer Blade 15 is a great laptop for gaming, but it does have its faults. You don’t get a dedicated GPU, which can be the deal breaker for some. The price is also quite high, especially considering that there are no Thunderbolt 3 and 4K display options available. There’s not much storage space either and the bloatware that comes pre-installed on the machine has often been a point of contention with many users. What’s more, you won’t be able to use Windows Hello or even connect an external webcam as there isn’t one on this laptop to begin with!

Of course, a small, premium laptop such as this one isn’t going to come cheap. While the Razer Blade 15’s weight and size might be considered small for a gaming laptop with these specs, it’s still a little heavy to comfortably use on your lap all day. At 4 pounds (1.8 kg), you will notice the extra heft if you’re carrying it around in a backpack or rolling suitcase all day. 4We’ve certainly carried heavier laptops before like the Acer Predator 21 X , though – so it’s not that bad compared to other gaming laptops of its class and capabilities.

The Razer Blade 15 is also not perfect in terms of performance per dollar right now. While the GTX 1060 Max-Q GPU inside can run most games well enough on this 1080p display at high settings, there are several cheaper options out there with similar specs – like the Gigabyte Aero 15X – that can do much of what this laptop can do for less money.

In terms of battery life we weren’t really impressed by what we saw from the Razer Blade 15 either in our tests. We were expecting better longevity given its Max-Q design and efficient processor working together since Max-Q was meant to conserve power while still delivering good gaming performance when needed.4 It managed only four hours and 17 minutes when continuously surfing over Wi-Fi on a full charge which is below average even for gaming laptops today . You’ll want to keep your charger handy if you plan on playing any games away from an outlet for any extended period of time due to the demanding.

The screen on this laptop is FABULOUS! Everything looks crisp and vibrant, colors pop without looking over-saturated. It’s a proper IPS display that gives true colors. Brightness goes REALLY high if you want to make use of it outdoors or under very bright lights. The 144hz refresh rate makes gaming smooth as butter too, especially when paired with RTX 3070 graphics card!

I would recommend getting an external mouse rather than relying on the trackpad. It’s not a bad trackpad per se – but if you don’t happen to have large hands, it’s quite small and I kept triggering the right click inadvertently while trying to move my cursor a bit more – so I got an external mouse as soon as I could afford one and haven’t looked back since! All in all, you’re going to be more than happy with this purchase!

When the OMEN 15 arrived at my apartment, I was surprised by how light and slim it is for a gaming laptop. It weighs 4.85 pounds, which is less than many other laptops in its class, like the Dell G3 (6 pounds) or Acer Nitro 5 (5.7 pounds). The only one that’s lighter than it is the Razer Blade 15 Base Model (4.6 pounds). The OMEN is also less than an inch thick.
