If you’re a gamer and are looking for a great gaming mouse, read on. I’ve been using this mouse for about two weeks now, and it is absolutely my new favorite mouse.
To start off with, the battery life is GREAT. I love how long this thing can go without needing a charge. The only issue I have with that is that I don’t know when it needs a charge because it doesn’t have a notification like my old Logitech G Pro Wireless did (but maybe they’ll fix that in the future). I’ve owned several trackballs, including the Kensington Expert, Logitech M570, and Logitech M570. I’ve been curious how the MX Ergo would compare. Here’s my take after a week of using it.
Ergonomics: The MX Ergo is much more comfortable than the Kensington Expert or M570, even when I switch from left to right hand. This is due to its rounded shape and ability to tilt. I’m so glad that they finally included this on a trackball.
The scroll wheel feels satisfyingly firm and responsive, whereas the one on the Expert felt like it was wobbling too much (and was “notched”).
I’m not sure if it’s a placebo effect or not, but my wrist feels more relaxed with this tilted at 20 degrees rather than 0. I think this works well for me because I tend to hold my hand a bit higher than what’s considered optimal (see picture). If you tend to move your arm down towards the mouse while mousing, then 0 degrees might work better for you.
The thumb rest is large and provides plenty of support. The buttons are placed further back from the trackball than on previous models which makes them easier to reach without shifting your grip as much.
