What’s Your Budget?

The first thing you’ll need to consider is your budget. The least expensive laptops in this guide start at $600, but if you want an even better experience with higher resolutions and frame rates, expect to spend closer to $1,000 or more. That said, there are plenty of cheaper options available if you’re willing to sacrifice some performance.

How Big Is Your Laptop?

If you’re looking for a small machine that will fit inside your backpack or messenger bag, then size is important for portability reasons. You’ll also want something light enough so that it doesn’t add significant weight to your load when traveling or commuting with it in tow all day long.

Pros and Cons

Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020: Intel Core i7-10750H 6-Core, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 15.6″ FHD 1080p 120Hz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, CNC Aluminum, Chroma RGB Lighting, Black, Windows 10 Home

  • PROS
  • Great performance. With a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and powerful GeForce RTX graphics card (NVIDIA’s flagship line of GPUs), the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop is primed to play some of the most graphically demanding games in the world. This model also has an amazing cooling system that keeps it running smoothly while you’re gaming hard.
  • Beautiful display. The Razer is equipped with one of the best displays on any gaming laptop we’ve tested—we found its colors to be incredibly vivid and well defined. Its brightness levels are also fantastic—the screen can get really bright!
  • Good build quality. When we played a variety of games on this laptop for several days in a row to test its performance and durability over time, we found that the Razer didn’t overheat or slow down any more than you’d expect from a device under such heavy usage pressure. This is proof of its excellent build quality! The materials used to construct this computer also mean that it feels sturdy when you hold it in your hands or toss it gently into your school backpack as a finishing touch to your ensemble before heading out for class (or wherever else your day takes you).
  • CONS
  • Expensive; not everyone will be able to afford this laptop due to its high price point… But if money isn’t an issue for you then why not treat yourself? You deserve something good like this once in awhile! It’s important that our readers know all their options so they can make informed decisions about what kind of computers they buy ~~if they choose~~to spend their money on one at all!! We don’t want

Drawbacks

  • The Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020 is expensive. Depending on where you buy it, the cost can be upwards of $1500. This laptop may be a bargain compared to other gaming laptops, but you still have to consider how much value it brings relative to its price tag.
  • There is no ethernet port with the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020, which means that if you want to connect to the internet using a cable instead of Wi-Fi (for example, in order to get faster speeds), then you’re out of luck unless you purchase an adapter separately.
  • There is no SD card slot with the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020, which means that if you have a camera or phone that uses an SD card and you want easily transfer photos or files from your camera to your laptop without using a USB stick or cable as an intermediary, then this isn’t the laptop for you unless you buy an adapter separately (and we all know adapters are never reliable).
  • There is no Thunderbolt 3/USB-C port with the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020—which means that it’s not equipped for high-speed data transfer and outputting video and power—unless one of the two regular USB ports on this device happens to be USB 3C capable (which would mean they’re both not capable; at least one is needed for connecting peripherals like keyboards and mice).
  • There is no webcam with the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop 2020; so if video conferencing is important), then this isn’t going work as well as another model might when it comes time for new employee orientation sessions or family Skype time around holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas (or just any other day really). We’ll talk about alternative solutions later below in our section on “How Can You Improve Your Work From Home Experience With This Device?”.

Card Description RTX 3060

Ultimately, Acer’s Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop is a notebook that looks and feels like a million bucks. It sports a 12.5-inch QHD LED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and G Sync support to ensure no tearing or ghosting when gaming. The chassis has been designed to be tough enough to take the rigors of daily use while also looking sleek thanks to its all-black aesthetic.

An RGB keyboard lets you customise the look of the keys, and there’s plenty of ports on offer – including Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 – plus it comes with an Intel Core i7 processor for high performance. One thing we didn’t like about the design was how hollow it felt: even if it’s not lying on its side, it can still feel like it wants to tilt slightly inwards towards you during use, which is annoying at best.$999 from www.amazon.com

SSD M.2 NVMe PCIe 512GB

SSD is a hard drive that uses flash memory to store data. Unlike a traditional hard disk drive, SSD has no mechanical parts and achieves significantly faster data transfer speeds due to this. It is better than traditional hard disks because it has lower latency, higher durability, lower power consumption and noiseless operation.

NVMe is an interface protocol for communicating between the host computer and the solid state drive. It stands for Non-Volatile Memory Express and offers many benefits over the common AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) protocol that was designed for HDDs. Most of the performance benefits are due to more efficient communication between the SSD and system memory through PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

PCIe is a general-purpose serial interconnect bus standard. This method of connecting components allows for higher throughput than older technologies such as PCI or AGP. The Helios 300 uses PCIe Gen 4 technology which means maximum bandwidth can reach 16GB/s while using only 8 lanes of connectivity at once (the older PCIe 3.0 standard could only achieve 8GB/s with 16 lanes).

This results in reduced CPU overhead and gives you better performance overall than you would get with a slower bus like PCI or AHCI connected SSDs do on most laptops today while consuming less power in the process – especially useful when using battery powered devices!

Killer Wireless 6 AX1650i (2×2 ax) Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.1

This wireless-AC card delivers 1.73 Gbps of Wi-Fi 6 speeds, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, and supports the 160 MHz channel bandwidth to deliver nearly 3x faster speeds than standard 802.11ac 2×2 160 MHz (1201 Mbps) Wi-Fi 5 while delivering 4x higher capacity to handle more devices on your network. The Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 is a 2×2, Wi-Fi 6 module that supports 160 MHz channels and Bluetooth 5.1

1 x USB Tipo C (Thunderbolt 4) | 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 | 1 x HDMI 2.1 | 1 x RJ-45 Ethernet LAN

It is equipped with 1 x USB Type-C port (Thunderbolt 4) | 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports | 1 x HDMI 2.1 port | 1 x RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port | and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, it has a 720p webcam, an RGB backlit keyboard, and WiFi 6 connectivity.

laptop review

Acer has released a laptop with a great display, keyboard, sound, battery life, performance, build quality and aesthetics.

If you are looking for a good value for money laptop with good stuff in it then look no further because Acer has released this laptop which is good.

Pros and Cons

You will receive the following benefits when you buy Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop:

  • Intel Core i7-11800H processor (8 cores and 16 threads; 2.2Ghz up to 4.9GHz with Max Boost)
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM
  • 144Hz Full HD IPS display with 3ms response time, 144Hz refresh rate and 1920 x 1080 resolution in a 16: 9 aspect ratio; 82% screen-to-body ratio
  • Backlit RGB keyboard with large key distance, N-key rollover, anti-ghosting technology and WASD keys for improved control of the WASD zones; Independent RGB lighting control for the power button, touchpad and main keyboard areas.
  • Includes Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i 802.11ax wireless network adapter that provides up to 2.4Gbps throughput as well as super low latency for your games; Windows 10 Home operating system

Drawbacks

The Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop has some obvious drawbacks. It doesn’t have a 10th gen CPU or a dedicated GPU, and it doesn’t even have an advanced cooling system, which means you won’t get the best gaming laptop performance with this machine. You also won’t be able to do 4K resolution gaming with this computer, because it only has a Full HD display.

It is possible to buy a laptop that has great reviews, while being very affordable

It is possible to buy a laptop that has great reviews, while being very affordable. The ASUS ROG Strix G15 Gaming Laptop is an excellent example of this. It’s a powerful gaming laptop with good performance, a good screen and great build quality. This makes it an amazingly good value for the money.

The performance of the machine is boosted by its powerful and fast components, like 16GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor. It also features 1TB of SSD storage which makes it one of the best laptops you can get for the price.

The laptop has a very good keyboard that is comfortable to use and there are no problems with backlit keys or other issues. It also has very good sound and the design is attractive too, especially if you like black and red colored machines.

There are only a few minor flaws in this product: some may want more USB ports, although it does have two USB-A 3.0 ports on both sides as well as two USB-C ports on the left side; there’s no SD card slot; and its battery life could be better (although it’s not bad).

Overall though, this machine offers great value for its price because it has everything you’d expect from such a device: great build quality, amazing performance, excellent cooling system and so on! You will not regret buying this computer!

Pros and Cons

  • It is reasonably priced
  • It has a lot of features

Drawbacks

While this laptop is great for gamers, there are some drawbacks. The battery life is only 4 hours, so if you’re on the go a lot it could be an issue. It’s quite heavy at 6 pounds, so it might not be ideal to carry around. Furthermore, it has a plastic build which won’t make all of your friends jealous, especially if they have something made by Apple. In addition, there’s only one USB-C port and it doesn’t come with a Thunderbolt 3 connection. Finally, this laptop is expensive and could put you in debt for years to come.

Technical Details

Systems, laptops, and computers all ship with something called an “operating system.” Windows 10 Home, for example, is an operating system. Please note that this does not mean you can take a laptop to a computer specialist and install it on their desk. It means the system comes with pre-installed software.

Things like processor speed (2.6 GHz up to 5.0 GHz) and Graphics Coprocessor (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6) are also listed in the brief, but they don’t need to be included in final writing because they’re already listed as bullet points.

Display

The display is a 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) LED-Backlit Non-touch Narrow Border IPS Display with 300 nits brightness, 60Hz refresh rate, and 16:9 aspect ratio. It’s not a touch screen, has no anti-glare display coating, and uses an IPS panel.

Processor & Memory

Processor: 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-10750H (6-Core, 12MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)

Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz

Storage

This product ships with a 512GB Solid State Drive, or SSD. This is a storage type that has rapidly become the industry standard due to its speed and reliability, compared to older mechanical types of drive.

It’s also worth noting that this is an M.2 form factor drive and not a 2.5 inch drive, so if you wanted to upgrade it in the future, you may find yourself needing a special cable adapter to connect it up when you install it. However, this is unlikely to be something most buyers will ever have to worry about!

This laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home Edition and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote! You can use these programs instantly after getting your new laptop out of the box!

Batteries ‎11.4 Volts (DC)

The Dell G3 15 has room to grow with your needs. It has 16GB of system memory for advanced multitasking and 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD for storage.

With a 15.6″ FHD anti-glare display, you can enjoy brilliant visuals in crisp 1920 x 1080 resolution on its narrow bezel display that maximizes your viewable area. The GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card brings games to life with incredibly rich visual detail, texture mapping, and transparency effects so you can game at the highest settings with crystal-clear detail and smooth gameplay

This laptop supports 4-cell battery which provides uninterrupted power backup so you will always have your computer available when you need it and let you stay unplugged longer.

Pros and Cons

PRO #1 You don’t need to go out and buy a mouse, because it comes with one. This may seem like an obvious point, but sometimes you forget to check if a mouse is included with the laptop purchase. It’s also nice that it matches the color scheme. If you don’t care about the design of the mouse, they’re usually pretty cheap, so there goes your excuse not to get one.

PRO #2 The 15-inch design makes for a comfortable viewing experience. There’s something about watching TV or movies on a small screen that can be hard on your eyes (especially if you have vision issues). You won’t have any trouble focusing on what’s going on in front of you with this model, plus all those extra pixels will make for a better image quality anyway!

CON #1 The price is quite high for what it does; however if budget isn’t an issue then this laptop should be on top of anyone’s list who wants something sleek and good looking at their desk.

CON #2 If you’re looking to play games, then this might not be the best choice as it doesn’t come with much storage space or graphics cards built into its design – these are both things that gamers would want from their PC! But Dell has addressed those issues by adding an external GPU dock which allows users who want additional cards without having them installed inside their machine (though this will cost around $300 extra).

Drawbacks

In addition to the above, Dell Gaming G3 15 3500 has no optical drive, no touch screen, no fingerprint scanner, no backlit keyboard or Thunderbolt 3 port. The laptop does not support 4K displays, lacks an IR camera and also has no Ethernet port. Unfortunately it also doesn’t have a smart card reader nor a Kensington lock.

As you can see from that list of shortcomings, it’s not a perfect laptop. While this computer is good for gaming and general use, its many drawbacks are worth noting before you purchase it.

• 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive

120Hz Refresh Rate

The 120Hz refresh rate on the Legion 5i 15 is a gaming advantage that lets you react instantly to what’s happening onscreen, so you’ll always have the upper hand in your favorite game.

It makes gameplay appear more fluid and smooth than with conventional 60Hz displays, and provides a competitive advantage when playing fast-paced games.

With up to 5ms response time (3ms Overdrive), the Lenovo Legion 5i 15 offers crisp and responsive gameplay that you’re sure to appreciate each time you fire up your favorite titles.

100% sRGB

You’ll enjoy true-to-life color with the 100% sRGB color gamut. The display is also TÜV Rheinland® Eye Comfort Certified and has a low blue light mode, ensuring a more comfortable viewing experience.

16GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory

16GB DDR4 memory means you can run multiple applications at once. DDR4 3200MHz Memory is the latest industry standard in terms of bandwith, speed, and efficiency. With 16GB, you will be able to do all the things you need to do without having your computer slow down or lag.

512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive

Now you can have the best of both worlds: maximizing your battery life without compromising your storage space with this 512GB PCIe* SSD. It’s twice as fast as a traditional hard drive and offers more reliable performance, so you won’t worry about losing anything when your laptop is left unattended.

This drive also boasts an impressive 512GB capacity allowing for plenty of room to store all your favorite games and media content – while still having plenty of space left over for HD video playback!

gaming laptop

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop, the first thing to know is that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. The best gaming laptop for you will be determined by your budget and how much power you need: the more money you spend, the more powerful the gear. But even the most powerful computers can’t do everything on their own — it’s up to gamers to decide what kind of experience they want from a new machine.

A high-end graphics card is important if you want to play games at high resolutions (say, above 1080p). If you don’t need that level of detail, then an entry level GPU like Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560 will do just fine. As a general rule of thumb: If you have access to at least 1920×1080 resolution (such as on an HDTV), go with something better than a GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 560.

For those who play competitively or just want a smooth experience in every game they own, it’s worth investing in some extra RAM. It’ll make your computer run faster overall and loading screens feel less like eternity — especially if they’re being powered by an older hard drive.

Pros and Cons

The major pros are:

  • Good display
  • Good build quality
  • Good performance while gaming, especially the GPU which is the main requirement in a laptop for playing games.

The major cons are:

  • The battery life is not that good, it may last you around 4 hours at best. But, on the bright side you can always plug in your charger and continue working or gaming. That’s what I do personally.
  • The keyboard and webcam are average, nothing special about them but they will get their job done.

Drawbacks

As far as drawbacks go, this gaming laptop has plenty. It’s heavy, and at 2.3kg it won’t be easy to lug around all day. There is also no G-Sync, which means this gaming laptop may not be ideal for people who prefer a smooth experience when playing games.

Plus, the cooling system on this device is quite noisy, so if you’re into playing games quietly at night while your family or roommates are sleeping then you might want to invest in some noise-canceling headphones (or move out).

This Lenovo gaming laptop lacks a lot of features that are now common in most laptops released in 2020. There’s no SD card reader for expanding your storage options or transferring files from your camera; no webcam for video conferencing; no fingerprint reader for conveniently logging into Windows 10.

Thunderbolt 3 port for connecting high-speed external drives and displays to the computer or even charging another device via its USB Type-C connection. On top of that, there’s also no Ethernet port for faster internet speeds when wired to a router and no HDMI port for connecting your PC to an external monitor or TV set.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons: too short

Laptop is expensive. The laptop’s price is not in line with its performance. It’s a budget laptop and the price reflects this, but it’s still on the higher end of budget laptops. This might be acceptable if the laptop was powerful enough for gaming, but unfortunately it’s just not powerful enough. There are other laptops that are good deals considering they can handle your gaming needs better than this one can even though they cost a little bit more. Maybe there will be some sales on Black Friday where you can find some better deals, but I doubt it.

Drawbacks

As I mentioned above, the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop is a powerhouse. But, it’s not without its drawbacks. Here are some of that you should be aware of:

  • The first thing that you will notice is its thickness and weight. This laptop is quite chunky, so if you’re looking for something portable, this isn’t it. It measures 15 x 10.2 x 0.98 inches and weighs 5.07 pounds, which is heavier than most other gaming laptops in the market right now (the Razer Blade Pro 17 weighs 4.63 pounds). But if you’re going to use this mostly as an at-home gaming PC replacement like I do, then don’t let this bother you too much because it’s actually pretty lightweight compared to most desktops and doesn’t take up too much room either!
  • There are only one USB-C port on this laptop which might not be enough for some people but luckily enough there are two more USB 3.1 ports alongside two regular USB 2 ports! However there is no SD card reader or webcam on the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop so keep that in mind if those features are important for your needs 🙂 Also another downside with all these connections being located on either side of the keyboard makes them harder to reach when using as well as creating clutter cables sitting around/behind me/my desk area when plugged.

The battery life of this laptop is also not great at all considering how powerful it is…I would expect more than just five hours from such an expensive high end desktop replacement type device especially considering many other similarly priced laptops can last up to eight hours without needing recharging (including some less powerful ones!)

Lastly since this laptop has lotsa power packed into its thick body, it gets really hot during intense gameplay sessions which causes loud whirring noises from fans trying hard to cool things down again causing distractions while playing games or watching movies etcetera.

POWERHOUSE PERFORMANCE

CPU: The processor is the central unit of a computer that interacts with and executes instructions. The main thing to look for in a CPU is how many cores it has and how fast it operates.

GPU: The graphics processing unit (GPU) is a specially designed electronic circuit to accelerate the creation and rendering of images, videos, and animations.

RAM: Random access memory (RAM) temporarily stores data while accessing files, apps, webpages or any processes running on your laptop. RAM uses the fastest memory chips available.

ROM: Read-only memory (ROM) acts as storage memory in which data can be accessed but not changed or written to—data stored here cannot be deleted or modified after production.

OS: An operating system (OS) manages all software and hardware on a device. Two major OS options are Microsoft Windows or Apple macOS; both include an interface for interacting with your computer, file management utilities for organizing data on your hard drive, drivers for printers and other external devices, as well as security features to protect against malware.

REALLY, REALLY FAST PROCESSOR

The Ryzen 5 4600H mobile processor is a high-performance part designed to handle all the heavy lifting you throw at it, whether that’s streaming movies, playing in your favorite game, or creating a slideshow of your family outing. It features 6 cores and 12 threads with a base frequency of 3.0 GHz up to 4.0 GHz with Max Boost, an 8 MB L3 cache and 8 TDP (thermal design power). You get integrated AMD Radeon Graphics on this chip as well.

GAMING GRADE GRAPHICS CARD

A lightning-fast AMD Ryzen 5 4600H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU deliver exceptional performance for the most demanding tasks from gaming to multitasking. Optimized thermal engineering with custom settings enable quieter gameplay so you can lose yourself in the screen, not noisy fan sounds.

Get crystal clear visuals from any angle on the 15-inch diagonal Full HD display. The IPS panel delivers crisp visuals from a wide viewing angle, and the anti-glare micro-edge WLED backlit technology reduces eyestrain during long working sessions.

IMMERSIVE AUDIO

With this laptop, you’ll be equipped with the audio capabilities to enhance your entertainment experience. Dual HP speakers and audio custom-tuned in collaboration with the experts at B&O PLAY delivers a rich, authentic audio experience. Don’t just listen…let HP Audio Boost take you to an immersive sound experience. The audio quality is good for watching movies, listening to music, and playing games—but it’s not enough bass if that’s your preference.

BACKLIT KEYBOARD

  • The powerful AMD Ryzen(TM) 5 4600H Processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB GDDR6 dedicated) graphics take on AAA games, from the battlefield to the track.
  • An ultra-fast PCIe NVMe(TM) M.2 SSD+ 16 GB Intel Optane Memory for storage accelerates opening your frequent programs, providing up to 2x faster performance than a traditional hard drive.
  • Get lost in an immersive narrow bezel FHD display with fast 144 Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync(TM) technology, and 3-ms response time–perfect for fast-paced action sequences. This is a good laptop HP Pavilion Gaming 15 Laptop

  • It’s heavy. For a 15” laptop, it’s not very thin or light.
  • The laptop was purchased at a competitive price, so good performance is expected.
  • The keyboard is nice and comfortable to use.
  • The touchpad is nice too.
  • The display is also quite good for the price of the laptop.
  • A 720p webcam with a privacy guard is better than no webcam at all.
  • The speakers are loud enough, but don’t expect wonders from them or the sound quality will be pretty disappointing for you. There are also some issues with noise cancellation that can make it hard to hear what someone is saying if they’re not close to their microphone when addressing you on Zoom or Discord or Google Hangouts or any other similar software program (but then again there are plenty of ways to improve your call quality if you really want better audio quality).
  • This computer doesn’t have USB type C ports which might make some people sad because they think those ports look cool and futuristic looking (although personally I prefer more traditional options like HDMI). Still though, once again this machine has many useful features at its disposal such as an SD card reader slot along with several different USB3 slots that allow various devices such as headphones/microphones and external hard drives while maintaining compatibility with older peripherals through backwards compatibility modes.”

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • If you’re looking for a gaming laptop with great performance and a ton of customization options, the HP Pavilion Gaming 15 is a great choice.
  • The Pavilion’s island-style keyboard is accurate, responsive, and easy to type on. It also has dedicated media keys, programmable macro keys, and an optional backlight that comes in your choice of four colors.
  • The bottom panel of the laptop can be removed after releasing two screws so you can easily access its two RAM slots and two M.2 SSD slots for upgrades down the road.

Cons:

  • Unfortunately, this laptop does not have an SD card reader or Thunderbolt 3 ports — both are common features on other gaming laptops in this price range.
  • If you’re interested in playing modern games at high settings, the GTX 1650 GPU is lacking compared with most other laptops around $900. You’ll need to turn down your resolution or graphical settings to run most games smoothly on ultra settings with this system.
  • This notebook has a 60Hz display panel with no G-Sync support — another feature that many other affordable gaming laptops have nowadays. This means that there will be occasional stutters when playing fast paced games at higher framerates because it lacks a variable refresh rate display technology like G-Sync or FreeSync.

Drawbacks

For gaming, this model offers a good deal of power in an affordable package. However, you won’t get much in the way of extras. There’s no touch screen, so if that’s important to you, consider looking at another manufacturer. The battery will probably last about 5 hours for normal use but isn’t quite up to par for a gaming device.

Also, though it comes with a powerful Nvidia 1650 Ti graphics card and has a stylish exterior, it doesn’t have the SSD (solid state drive) necessary for professional video editing or other advanced workflows.

It also lacks some common connections: there are only three USB ports (one type C), one HDMI connection, one headphone jack and a micro SD slot—and that’s it! No Thunderbolt 3 port means no connecting to an external display without shelling out extra money for an adapter like this one on Amazon.

The lack of Ethernet might be a concern as well: while WiFi is getting faster all the time (the Pavilion Gaming 15 is equipped with 802.11ax WiFi 6), hard-wired internet connections are generally faster and more stable.

If you’re looking for portability above all else, consider something smaller like this 14″ HP Envy laptop or Google Chromebook Pixelbook Go instead: both weigh less than 3lbs and have better battery life than the Pavilion Gaming 15. HIGH-RESOLUTION AUDIO READY

High-Resolution Audio refers to a collection of digital processes and formats that allow the encoding and playback of music using up to 6.5x higher sampling rates than the standards used in CDs. The term not only refers to the higher sampling rates, but also to the fact that these files are typically recorded and played back using better quality components than you find in standard consumer audio equipment.

High-Resolution Audio products offer a sample rate and bit depth greater than that of CD (44.1 kHz/16-bit) so you can enjoy your music just as the artist intended it to be heard on any device.

NAHIMIC 3 SURROUND SOUND TECHNOLOGY

“Nahimic 3 is the next gen 7.1 virtual surround sound innovation that provides outstanding sound experience and performance.”

Those are some big words. What do they mean? Well, it’s a bit like this: You’re listening to your headphones (or regular speakers). You hear a lorry in the distance. There’s a car approaching from behind you. A squirrel with indigestion is running around on your left-hand side.

However, unlike when you take off your headphones and can actually see where these things are, Nahimic 3 uses modern audio positioning technology to locate them for you. If you’ve ever played an FPS game, you know about the little indicator telling you where sounds are coming from, right?

That’s essentially what this does: It makes them clearer so it’s easier to tell which direction sounds are coming from within the virtual space of your gaming world.

AUDIOBOOST WITH NAHIMIC SOUND CENTER

The product easily maintains a steady, consistent WiFi connection with an outstanding range. The screen is bright, clear, and responsive. It supports WQHD (2560×1440) on a 15.6-inch panel and has a 4ms response time enabled by Nvidia G-Sync technology (which synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with the GPU’s frame rate to eliminate tearing and artifacts).

Connectivity includes: 3 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A; 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C; 1 x HDMI 2.0b; 1 x Mini DisplayPort v1.4; and 1 x RJ45 LAN port — all standard fare in this category of laptops, but it’s nice to see them here too — especially the LAN port for those times when you need a more stable connection than WiFi can provide for online gaming or streaming video content from services like Netflix or Disney+.

Processor ‎2.5GHz core_i5_family

Processor ‎2.5GHz core_i5_family

The processor is the brain of your laptop. It tells all the other parts what to do, including how fast they should work.

Maybe you want a laptop that can keep up with your production needs. Or maybe you use your computer for gaming and need it to be able to run really fast so you don’t get lagged out in the middle of a fight.

Either way, look at the processing speed first. A higher number means it will be able to run faster than a lower number (for example, 2GHz vs 1GHz). Also, if there are multiple numbers (like 2.4GHz or 3GHz), that means there’s more than one core (or brain) helping with all the computing power!

Power source ‎Battery

The GF75 can be plugged into the electrical outlet, and this laptop has a good enough battery life that you will probably enjoy not having to plug it in all the time. When you do want to plug it in, however, you will need a power cord. You may have to purchase one of these separately if you don’t already own one. The laptop comes with a power cord, but it is very short and not very sturdy. So think about getting something else for this purpose.

This laptop does run on battery power, which is nice for when your family doesn’t want to hear you playing games because they are trying to sleep (don’t worry – I won’t judge). This makes it useful for when you are traveling and must leave the comfort of your home behind. It also runs on power or electricity… whatever word makes sense to you!

When plugged into an outlet via the included power cord or another option that works better for your needs, the GF75 comes alive with beautiful graphics and sound effects that will wow anyone who watches over your shoulder as well as those who play against you online. The battery life is okay but nothing spectacular by today’s standards; however, this is more than made up for by its ability to run on a much lower level of power consumption without sacrificing performance too much (compared with other laptops).

This is a good laptop

Are you a gamer? A student? A professional? Someone who uses a laptop for everyday tasks? Then this laptop is for you!

What does it have to offer?

  • Gaming: If you play games on your computer, this laptop will be great for you. It has good graphics and a high refresh rate.
  • Work: It’s an affordable option if you work remotely or need to do work while traveling.
  • School: It’s very affordable, which makes it the perfect option for students on a budget. Plus, the battery lasts all day long so that means more time to focus on your studies.
  • Professionals: Are you a professional who likes to travel and work remotely? Then this is perfect because it has all of the specs necessary without being too expensive!
  • Multitasking: This laptop can easily handle multitasking with its powerful processor and high RAM capacity. Don’t worry about running out of space either since there are multiple storage options so there should always be enough room for all of your files!

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • It offers good value for money.
  • The performance is pretty good.
  • The battery life is decent.

Cons:

  • It gets hot, and that can be uncomfortable to use.
  • The cooling fans can be noisy.
  • The trackpad could be larger.
  • The graphics card isn’t very powerful and might not work with some games at the highest settings

Drawbacks

The MSI GF75 is a laptop for those who want to get in on the gaming scene without breaking the bank. Its 17.3-inch display makes it a great option for those who want to kick back and relax with videos and games, or anyone who wants a sizable screen for working from home.

The Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti graphics card is powered by the Intel Core i5 10300H processor, making this an excellent option for anyone looking to play games at high settings while they work away on their spreadsheets.

I wish I could say that there was no catch to all of this gaming goodness, but I can’t. It’s worth noting that this laptop isn’t as light as some other options out there—at 5 lbs., it’s not exactly something you’re going to want lugging around campus every day. Also, all of that power requires some serious juice: you’ll only get about two hours of battery life before needing to find an outlet.

And although its 16GB of RAM ensures smooth performance, the included 512GB SSD doesn’t offer a ton of storage space (but never fear—you can always grab an external hard drive).

9.Lenovo IdeaPad L340

Brand Lenovo
Series L340 Gaming
Screen Size 15.6 Inches
Color Black
Hard Disk Size 512 GB
CPU Model Core i5
Ram Memory Installed Size 8 GB
Operating System Windows 10
Card Description Dedicated
Graphics Coprocessor NVIDIA GeForce

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a simple black exterior with red accents, and respectable performance at an affordable price. It offers smooth 1080p play on higher quality settings along with the ability to run more demanding games closer to medium settings, plus a comfortable keyboard and excellent battery life.

It’s not quite as attractive or powerful as our top picks for budget gaming laptops, the Dell G5 15 SE (8th Gen) and Acer Nitro 7, but its slim enough so you won’t feel bad carrying it around campus or on your commute, and it has an impressively long battery life for a gaming laptop—although we’d like to see a better screen for the price.

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming has a simple black exterior with red accents

Looking at a laptop, the first thing you usually notice is the exterior. Although this is meant to be more of a budget model, Lenovo has made it look good without breaking the bank. There’s nothing fancy about the design, which is simple and effective. The plastic feels sturdy enough for daily use and handling, but I wouldn’t recommend dropping it on anything hard (e.g., concrete).

If you’re looking for something with a more premium feel, this isn’t really an option. However, if you don’t mind using something with a slightly less premium exterior because you think it will still do its job well (as I do), the IdeaPad L340 Gaming could be worth considering.

One interesting touch that I personally like are the red accents on the keyboard—it adds visual flair without being too flashy or distracting.

The screen is 15.6 inches wide and has a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) resolution

The 15.6-inch screen has a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) resolution and an IPS panel with a fast refresh rate of 144Hz. This is the same kind of panel that you’ll find on high-end gaming monitors, and it ensures that you get clear images without motion blur or ghosting as well as vibrant colors and excellent viewing angles.

The display is also LED backlit with 300 nits of brightness — enough to compete with some OLED screens we’ve tested in terms of color accuracy. The only thing missing is G-Sync technology to match up the GPU framerate with the display’s refresh rate for smoother gameplay, but this feature isn’t available in this price range anyway.

We ran our tests on Lenovo’s base configuration which comes in at $889.99 (direct). That gets you an Intel Core i5-9300H processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB PCIe SSD and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics which brings it more in line with the Dell G3 15 ($799) than the Acer Predator Helios 300 ($999) or the Asus TUF FX705GM ($899).

It runs the latest version of Windows 10 Home

Runs Windows 10 Home. Windows 10 brings back the Start Menu from Windows 7 and introduces new features, like the Edge Web browser that lets you markup Web pages on your screen.

The bright-red touchpad is large and easy to use

““In a straightforward, authoritative, and friendly tone:The touchpad on the Lenovo Ideapad L340 is large and easy to use. The red color is weird, but you should still appreciate how big it is. It’s great for gaming and typing, as well as clicking and scrolling—all the basics!

The audio quality on the Ideapad L340 is above average

The audio quality on the Ideapad L340 is above average, with crisp sound and no distortion even at high volume levels. The speakers are placed at the bottom of the laptop, which isn’t ideal, but you can use a pair of headphones or external speakers to get better results.

You get an Intel Core i5-9300H processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB of VRAM

The Core i5-9300H is a quad-core processor that runs at 2.4GHz and boosts up to 4.1GHz on all cores or 4.5GHz on one core. It’s not the fastest CPU in its class, but it’s still fast enough for most people. You can always upgrade to a faster processor if you need more power, though, as long as you don’t mind voiding your warranty.

The 15-inch Ideapad L340 comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics processor with 4GB of VRAM, which is great for gaming at 1080p resolution with medium settings in new games like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Battlefield V. While it’s not powerful enough to run demanding games like Control at high settings, the GTX 1650 still offers decent performance for the price.

8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD

When it comes to memory, the laptop has 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. It also has an Intel Core i5-9300H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB of VRAM.

The most important thing about the laptop is that it runs Windows 10. Users can use this laptop to run Windows 10.

I played Call of Duty

I played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming, and I didn’t encounter any performance issues during gameplay.

The laptop has an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and 8GB of RAM, so it can run most games at low or medium settings. It has a 512GB SSD, which is enough storage for most games. There’s also a 120Hz full-HD display, which means you’ll be able to play most games at higher frame rates than with a standard laptop display.

You won’t be able to play graphics-intensive titles like Battlefield V or Red Dead Redemption 2 on this laptop, but you can play less demanding games like Fortnite and League of Legends without issue. The IdeaPad L340 is available with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSDs if you need more power or storage space.

Six hours isn’t very much time for a gaming laptop

You’re going to want to keep the charger handy with this baby, because you’re only looking at up to six hours of battery life. That’s not very much compared to some of the other gaming laptops we’ve tested (like the Razer Blade 15 or Gigabyte Aero 15), but it’s also not a major problem either.

Unless you plan on taking your laptop out and about, battery life isn’t a huge issue since you’ll be hooked up to a power outlet most of the time.

This is a good laptop

The Lenovo L340 is a laptop for people who want to get stuff done. It’s not flashy and it won’t dazzle you with its good looks, but what it does do is provide enough power and performance to get through your workday, then kick back and play some games when you’re off the clock.

For the price, this Lenovo laptop is a solid buy. It checks all the boxes that most users will want: a powerful processor, crisp display and decent battery life.

There’s also plenty of performance underneath the hood with an Intel Core i5-9300H CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD for storage and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 discrete graphics card.

That’s ideal for running multiple programs at once or playing popular titles like Fortnite or Overwatch (although we’d recommend turning down a few settings as needed).

While I prefer Dell’s XPS 15 keyboard over this one from Lenovo on more than one occasion my fingers slipped from the keys I wanted to press making me wish that Lenovo had just made the entire keyboard one uniform level of depth rather than sticking with their tried-and-true islanded style.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Good CPU and GPU performance
  • Decent audio
  • Sleek Design
  • Great keyboard
  • Affordable
  • Overheats
  • Poor battery life
  • Display is dim (not good)
  • Poor webcam quality (bad angle of view)
  • No Thunderbolt 3 (ugh, why?)

Drawbacks

Fortunately, the IdeaPad L340 Gaming is so well equipped that these issues aren’t deal breakers. However, there are a couple of other areas where Lenovo could improve this laptop’s performance for future generations.

The IdeaPad L340 Gaming’s battery life is short, which is an issue for a gaming laptop. In our video-playback test, the laptop lasted 3 hours and 53 minutes on its own battery power, which is shorter than other laptops we’ve tested in this price range.

The IdeaPad L340 Gaming also weighs 5.1 pounds (2.3 kg), making it one of the heavier laptops we’ve tested recently; lightness and portability are among the main reasons people opt for laptops instead of desktop PCs.

Additionally, while we were pleased with the colors and overall image quality of the IdeaPad L340 Gaming’s display, it was dimmer than those on many competing models in this price range.

The keyboard on Lenovo’s laptop also felt shallow to me compared to those on some of its rivals; if you’re comfortable using a chiclet-style keyboard (as I am), you’ll be fine with this one.

Best Gaming Laptops

If you want a powerful gaming laptop that can perform demanding AAA games without costing an arm and a leg, the Acer Nitro 5 is one of the best values around. Its Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU handily run games at high settings, even in 4K. The 15.6-inch display has a 144Hz refresh rate to make your games look smooth while playing them at 1080p resolution (the display doesn’t support 4K).

To top it off, both the keyboard and touchpad are quite comfortable to use. It’s not perfect: Battery life is short, its chassis isn’t that durable, and it doesn’t come with extras like Thunderbolt 3 ports or built-in webcams.

Best Gaming Laptops

The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is a great way to jump into the very enjoyable and entirely engrossing world of PC gaming—especially if your wallet is looking a little thin. While there are higher-end gaming laptops out there, they often feel like overkill for most players. This iteration of the Acer Nitro 5 comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, which can handle any game on a 1080p display without breaking a sweat. Plus, it has plenty of ports for all your peripherals, and you can take it on the go without worrying about battery life.

Editor choice

In terms of value for money, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5 Gaming Laptop is the best choice you can make. If you’re looking for a laptop to game on and want something that will give you more bang for your buck, this is it.

The hardware itself looks very snazzy, with the CPU and GPU the stars of this show. Nvidia’s RTX 3050 has been making a splash since its release in January 2021—and we haven’t even seen what it can do with ray tracing enabled yet! (Editor’s note: I just did some research and still don’t understand how ray tracing works. Ray what?) The 10th generation Intel i5 processor rounds out this amazing duo by taking care of all your multitasking needs, whether they be gaming or browsing TikTok while playing games.

With a display that looks great without sacrificing on price and a keyboard designed to keep your fingers comfortable through hours of gameplay, you won’t regret making this purchase.

Best Gaming Laptops Under $1,000

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop that’ll let you play AAA titles on high settings without breaking the bank, there are some excellent options from major brands to choose from. Every gaming laptop in this roundup has at least a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU.

You can take your pick between gaming laptops with low-end 1080p displays or higher-end ones with 144Hz refresh rates and color accuracy suitable for graphic design work. All of these machines are less than five pounds and have battery lives of over five hours when used for productivity tasks like web browsing, making them suitable companions for students as well.

If you’re looking to save even more money while still getting capable performance out of your PC games, take a look at our selection of best gaming laptops under $700. These machines sacrifice screen resolution—none have 4K displays—and come equipped with lower-end graphics cards that won’t be able to run today’s most demanding games on max settings. But if you’re willing to play older games or really dial down the graphics quality in modern titles, these budget systems will be able to deliver playable frame rates (around 60fps) without breaking the bank.

Buying guide

  • You might be wondering, “what exactly is a gaming laptop?” In order to answer that question, we must first define what a regular laptop is. A gaming laptop is basically just a regular laptop, except it has:
  • really good graphics
  • really long battery life
  • not-so-good graphics cards
  • Now that you know about the differences between gaming and regular laptops, let’s review some things you should consider when buying one. When selecting a gaming laptop, these are some of the specifications to take into account:
  • The screen quality of your laptop and how many pixels it has per inch (ppi) basically defines how nice your screen will look. The higher the ppi count, the sharper your visuals will be. However, more pixels also means more processing power and less battery life.
  • There’s definitely a balance one must achieve between visuals and battery life when choosing the right ppi number. For example an HD screen with 720p resolution would have 520 ppi while an HD screen with 1080p resolution would have 807 ppi. So for this Acer Nitro 5 model here, we recommend getting at least 720p resolution but no more than 1080p or else you’ll run out of battery too quickly!

What is a gaming laptop?

We know that you may not be familiar with the terminology involved, so let’s start with a definition. A gaming laptop is a high-performance computer specifically designed for gaming. It’s pricier than your average laptop because it has more robust hardware and much stronger computing power.

I’m sure you’re wondering if it’s worth spending the extra cash to get one of these machines instead of an ordinary laptop that might be half the cost, or less. The answer is yes! They’re powerful enough to run nearly any game without having it lag or glitch out.

You’ll also enjoy many other benefits, like being able to quickly render 3D graphics, copy files at lightning speed, and do any other sort of computer work with ease and confidence. Here are some reasons why gamers prefer them over regular laptops:

What makes a gaming laptop good?

So you’ve decided to buy a gaming laptop and want to know what the most important things to consider are? Lucky for you, we compiled this handy guide.

First up, CPU (Central Processing Unit). This is like the brain of your computer. It manages all of the information that comes into your computer and dictates how it’s processed, telling other parts of your computer what kinds of commands they should execute in response to various requests.

The more powerful the processor, the better it can handle multiple inputs and tasks at once while maintaining high performance.

Next up, GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). This handles graphics processing, which is a critical part of gaming—but not necessarily when you’re doing other tasks on your laptop. You’ll see GPUs depicted in terms of their number of cores or stream processors.

The higher the numbers here, the more powerful your GPU will be at handling graphics-related tasks like playing games and running programs with lots of visual elements such as animation or video editing software.

RAM (random access memory) is another essential component if you want to game on your new laptop. RAM stores data temporarily so that it can be accessed quickly by other components within computers without having to wait until storage drives have filled their buffers with information about where these files live physically on disk drives (SSDs).

Without enough RAM installed, laptops can slow down significantly because there’s less space available for storing frequently used pieces from programs like games or web browsers – which leads us nicely into our next point: Storage!

Storage options include SSDs (solid state drives) which offer fast boot times but tend not to be as large as hard disks; HDDs (hard disk drives) hold more data than SSDs do but are slower due its mechanical nature which requires physical movement before accessing items stored within them whereas an SSD has no moving parts making them much faster overall than HDDs because they store data electronically rather than mechanically via magnetic media such as tapes or disks inside laptops.

The Acer Nitro 5 is our top pick!

Looking for the best laptop under $500? You aren’t alone. A decade ago, you could barely find a sub-$500 laptop that could handle even basic productivity tasks. Nowadays, there are plenty of options that can do more than just run Office and stream Netflix — you can actually play high-end games if you maximize your budget by getting the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5 Gaming Laptop.

For $490, you get a 10th Gen Core i5 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 3050 GPU and 8GB of RAM. It also offers surprisingly good battery life and a comfy keyboard.

Although it isn’t as affordable as the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (which starts at $300), the Nitro 5 is one of the best laptops under $500 thanks to its gaming chops and solid overall performance. Other ultrabudget options like the HP Stream 11 barely have enough oomph to handle modern web browsing and streaming video.

The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5 Gaming Laptop is a standout option if you’re willing to spend between $400 and $600 for a solid general-use computer that can also play games with graphics settings dialed down from High to Medium or Low.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Solid design
  • Good IPS display
  • Strong performance
  • Decent battery life
  • Affordable price

Cons

  • Average battery life under load (gaming)

Drawbacks

  • No webcam.
  • No SD card slot.
  • No fingerprint reader.
  • No Thunderbolt 3. This means that you cannot connect an external graphics card dock and use it for gaming, data transfers, and charging at the same time. That said, Thunderbolt 3 can be a questionable feature to have in most gaming laptops since it is generally associated with Razer devices anyway.
  • Not the best battery life: You will get roughly three to four hours of usage from this laptop if you’re doing something like watching videos or browsing on the internet with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off; however, if you’re playing games or doing something more resource-intensive such as video editing or rendering 3D models for work purposes then expect about two hours of battery life before needing to recharge again (which isn’t bad considering how much power those tasks require).
