I was not impressed with the M560 mouse. I’ve been using the Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse for years. I was looking to replace it because while the shape and feel of the mouse were comfortable, the scroll wheel had given out twice in 3 years and it had recently died again. As a web developer and avid video gamer, I absolutely need a good mouse.
The M560 is NOT a good mouse. For starters, there is no tactile feedback on the scroll wheel and it does not click (it does have a clicky button behind it though). The scroll wheel is designed to have some resistance but this is poorly implemented. It has a rubberized surface and is extremely hard to push or pull in either direction (and as previously mentioned there is no tactile feedback so you can’t tell if you’re actually scrolling or just pushing against an immovable object).
The left/right buttons are not very responsive – they require a bit of force to actuate and do not have “mushy” travel like most mice these days. The left/right buttons under your thumb are even worse – they are very mushy and require a lot of pressure to actuate.

This is the best trackball I have ever used. I have been using trackballs for 30+ years and am so happy to see Kensington keeping up with the times and staying true to what has always made them great.
