Virtual Reality video headsets have been in the news quite a lot recently, and it seems like every tech company is working on some kind of VR headset.
With such high demand, stores are running out of merchandise and there are even reports of people throwing away their old headsets when they find out that they can get better quality in a store now.
Virtual Reality is an amazing technology and a fantastic way to enjoy movies. However, it comes with some drawbacks. You can have trouble focusing on the movie because your eyes are filled with everything that’s around you.
You can also get dizzy or feel disoriented after a while because your brain doesn’t clear all the stuff out from your vision like it normally would.
I’ve been using a Samsung Gear VR since it came out, and while it’s not as good as the Oculus Rift (my other favorite headset), it’s pretty good for watching movies. Below are my performance considerations when choosing a VR headset for movie viewing.
1.Google 87002823-01 Official Cardboard- 2 Pack
Google Cardboard is a virtual reality headset that transforms a phone into a simple VR device. It’s a great way to view apps that support it, and even better with an app called Youtube. If you have the newest version of Youtube (the red icon), you can watch 360° videos on it! You can see a sample here:
You will need an app called Parallax or AnimVR to view it properly, but once you have the correct app installed on your smartphone.
Whether you’re at home or on the go, make the most of YouTube with Cardboard – a fun, affordable way to enjoy your 2D and 3D videos on your smartphone. Use your headset to look around and explore when you play a 360-degree video.
2.Oculus Rift S
The Oculus Rift S is a virtual reality headset designed for extended gameplay. Whether you’re playing a game or watching a movie, the built-in mesh fabric and adjustable headband put you at the center of the action.
The Oculus Rift S is the next step on your journey to the virtual reality. Everything from the visuals to the controls gets a major upgrade over the original Rift.
The Oculus Quest features a 2560×1440 resolution with an 80 Hz refresh rate. It includes built-in tracking and a single two-stage trigger, so you can play games without extra accessories or motion controllers.
The Rift S is an easy-to-use, plug-and-play virtual reality headset that revolutionizes the VR setup process. With integrated speakers, a high-resolution OLED display, and PC-driven tracking, the Rift S is the most advanced and comfortable way to experience Rift.
Explore exotic new lands, battle dragons, and build castles with friends in the only VR experience that delivers on the dream of consumer VR.
3.Samsung Gear VR
Similar to the Oculus Rift, the Gear VR is a smartphone-based VR headset. Unlike the Rift, its screen is split in half and it uses a touchpad rather than a USB-connected Xbox controller (for games etc.)
There are also dedicated play/pause and back buttons.
Virtual reality brings the world of entertainment right to you in a seamless and engaging way. With the Gear VR, simply slot in your compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone to dive into a new world and explore endless adventures. Your virtual reality begins with a quick set up.
Then, select from thousands of 360-degree videos or games that are available for download. Whether you enjoy watching an immersive film, taking guided tours that put you front row and center at a sporting event or concert—or just hanging out with friends—the Gear VR lets you experience it all in new ways.
4.Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headset
The Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headset with Controller is powered by your Android or iOS smartphone (not included) to give you access to a wide range of entertainment apps. This headset is designed to work without cameras, so you can enjoy VR in full privacy.

Portable & Easy to Use Oculus Go has a lightweight, ergonomic design that you can wear anywhere without feeling tethered or limited by wires. This headset is easy to use.
5.HTC VIVE Pro Virtual Reality System

The improved clarity provides a sharper picture while also improving visual acuity. The Vive Pro has 360˚ audio and noise cancellation capabilities to ensure complete immersion.
The HTC Vive Pro gives you the best room-scale virtual reality experience. The high-resolution display and vibrant colors make for sharp and crisp graphics.
