10 Best Laptop For Tuning Cars 2022 – Reviews & Guide
What is the best laptop for tuning cars? Most people don’t realize that the average laptop computer is not designed to handle the heat and stress of tuning and diagnostics. In this article, I’ll give you a few tips on what to look for when you’re choosing a laptop for tuning cars.
As far as laptops are concerned, it’s hard to go wrong with Dell. I have a Dell Studio 15 that I use for everything from office work and web browsing, to car tuning and diagnostics. It’s fast, and has tons of memory – a full 2 GB of RAM. The battery lasts about 3 hours, which is plenty for any kind of car tuning you’ll be doing. This particular model also has an HDMI output so you can connect it to your home theater or HDTV.
You might think that a laptop would be the best choice because they are portable and lightweight, but they are also very expensive and fragile. If you drop one or get in an accident while using it, it will most likely be destroyed.
If you’re going to spend that kind of money on a computer, then I’d suggest that you buy a desktop instead. They are much more reliable than laptops, and they can usually be repaired if something breaks down while you’re.
Are Chromebooks good for tuning?
The answer is both yes and no. If you are looking for a good laptop to do some light media production, then yes. If you are looking to use it as a main workstation for editing your photos/videos, then probably not.
Chromebooks run on Chrome OS and Chrome OS doesn’t support much apps aside from those from the Google Play Store. Those apps are more like mobile apps and they have their limitations. That’s why I wouldn’t recommend using it for any professional editing.
You can however use it for light activity like editing videos on YouTube or even Instagram, but it’s more of an entertainment device, than a work machine.
Can I tune my car with my laptop?
It depends what you mean by ‘tune’, but it’s certainly possible to make modifications to the way a car runs with a laptop.
You can’t, however, access the ECU and make changes using a laptop unless the car was designed with that in mind. That’s where OBD-II comes into play.
OBD-II is a standard port that cars have had in the US since 1996, and most European cars since 2001. It’s typically located under the steering wheel. With an OBD-II cable, you can connect to your car’s ECU and read different sensor values and trouble codes. This allows you to diagnose problems with your car, for example if your check engine light comes on.
For many modern cars, there are also OBD-II apps available for Android or iOS that will talk to your car and tell you exactly what the problem is. There are also apps that let you modify performance maps and other settings.

Beautiful display
The vast, colorful and bright display on the New XPS 13 is an absolute beauty. The anti-reflective coating means you won’t have to crank up the brightness too much to see everything clearly — even in daylight. The laptop’s size and form factor make it easy to carry around, but it still manages to pack a solid performance punch with its Intel Core i7 processor and 512GB SSD of storage. It feels like a premium product thanks to its solid construction and excellent keyboard, which benefits from a palm rest that’s larger than those found on other laptops with similar footprint sizes.
good size and form factor, runs fast with good performance
The XPS 13 has been the highest rated laptop by many reviewers and considered to be one of the best laptops you can buy.
The form factor of this laptop is excellent, only 11-17mm thin and weighing only 2.65 lbs makes it very portable. The InfinityEdge display provides a larger screen in a smaller footprint.
It has an Intel 10th Generation i7-1065g7 processor which runs at 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage making it very fast.
I purchased this laptop because I wanted something good for traveling that is small, light and powerful enough to do any task I needed.
Battery life is a bit short but can run for 4-6 hours on a charge
Battery life is a bit short of 4-6 hours, but that’s more than enough to get through most work days. If you need longer battery life, you should consider another laptop. But if you can cope with the limited amount of time it takes to run out of juice, this system is otherwise perfect for most people.
Good solid construction
The brushed-aluminum lid and underside of this laptop have a unibody design, which makes it feel sturdier and more premium. There are other versions of the XPS 13, including one with a white glass fiber interior, but I like the standard model with its black carbon fiber interior for two reasons: It’s softer on my wrists when I rest them on the deck during long typing sessions, and it hides stains better. The laptop is also thin and light (2.8 pounds), making it easy to carry around as your daily computer.
I tested the 13-inch version, which has a 1080p display. This model runs fast enough for my everyday use: web browsing, Slack chatting and writing in Google Docs. It handled 15 open tabs in Google Chrome without much slowdown. Still, if you intend to use your laptop for more than those tasks — graphic design or video editing, for instance — you may want to look at other laptops that have more powerful processors or dedicated graphics cards.
The battery life isn’t as long as I had hoped; we measured just over 4 hours of continuous video streaming at 100 nits (a brightness setting) when connected to Wi-Fi (though under normal usage conditions, it could last closer to 6 hours). You can get longer battery life by using the less power-hungry FHD+ display option instead of the QHD+ resolution that comes on our review unit; there is also an XPS 13 with Intel’s lower-powered Ice Lake processor that can last almost an hour longer than ours did during our test (though its performance will be slightly slower).
feels like a premium product
The Dell New XPS 13 9300 13.4-inch FHD InfinityEdge Touchscreen Laptop (Silver), Intel Core i7-1065G7 10th Gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows 10 Pro (XPS 9300-7524SLV-PUS) feels like a premium product because of the materials and design. The carbon fiber palm rest is solid and sturdy, with a soft smooth texture. The aluminum lid has a hairline finish on the top which looks amazing. The white keyboard keys have a good feel to them which makes it easy to type fast with accuracy.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- This is where the XPS 13 9300 absolutely shines. The 10th Generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM work together to give you one of the fastest laptops currently available, especially for its price. Moreover, the Dell XPS 13 9300 is a laptop that is capable of handling high-end, AAA games without frame drops. We tested the laptop with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and were happy with what we saw on screen. We were able to play at medium settings at a steady 50fps (frames per second) which isn’t bad considering how demanding this game is on hardware.
Price:
- The price tag of $1,647 may seem heavy on the pocket but it’s actually reasonable when compared to other similar Windows 10 laptops that cost upwards of $2,000 or more. The price has been brought down because Dell has partnered with Microsoft so their laptops now come preloaded with Windows 10 Home instead of Windows 10 Pro which reduces the cost significantly. While it does feel like a downgrade from Windows 11 Pro you have to keep in mind that only “pro users” will experience any difference between these two systems and for most people there isn’t much difference when it comes to features offered by both software packages anyway. However if you still want access to all those pro features then you can always purchase an upgrade from Microsoft directly so no biggie here either way.
Drawbacks
There are two drawbacks that you should be aware of while searching for the perfect Dell laptop. Firstly, the battery life is rather short. On average, it lasts between eight and ten hours. This is far below the other laptops on our list. The second drawback is that the keyboard isn’t backlit, which means that you won’t be able to work in dark rooms or on flights.
Other downsides include a small touchpad and a non-glossy screen, but these are minor problems when compared to the overall durability and quality of this laptop.

HP Spectre x360-13t Quad Core is a fast laptop. You can use it quickly to do lots of different things at once. For example, you could watch YouTube videos, play a game on Epic Games, and search for an item on Amazon all at the same time. It also has a 4K touchscreen display, which means that you can see the apps with extreme clarity. This is good if you want to draw small things like caricatures or tattoos. Additionally, it has a long battery life so you don’t have to worry about charging it every few hours like some other laptops.
While this laptop has many great features, there are also some drawbacks worth mentioning: firstly, it does not have an Ethernet port for connecting directly to your router via cable; secondly, despite having high-quality speakers in comparison with other laptops our testers tried out – they still aren’t as good as external speakers or headphones; thirdly, although its speedy processor allows us to launch programs quickly and multi-task easily – we found ourselves wishing it had even more RAM than just 16GB because we would sometimes receive error messages when trying out new software applications.

spectacular design, and Impressive performance
So, at a glance, it’s hard to say what exactly you’re buying with the Spectre x360-13t. Yes, its 13.3-inch 2K display is nice and sharp and has a high resolution of 3200×1800. But pricing starts at $749 for a model with just 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage — not enough to really be considered premium in the laptop world.
And then there is all the extra bloatware on top of that — all those HP programs that have no real reason to exist, like an onscreen keyboard (which I found to be particularly annoying). I also had some issues with heat management during my time testing this laptop — which is unfortunate given it’s pretty light for a system packing desktop-grade specs.
But when you stop thinking about all these things as negatives, you find yourself instead thinking about the stunning look of this laptop. The design language from the Spectre X360 is carried over here in similar fashion: think elegant lines made from silver brushed aluminum and black accents that look subtle but give this product an unmistakable presence — especially when seen from a distance or up close.
And that screen looks great too: I was impressed by how bright it was for such a large display (something else often missed with laptops) without being overly reflective or harsh.
If you can overlook everything else HP throws at you and just focus on how much you like its design, then this laptop really does deliver good performance too: while I felt some lag while using an app like Adobe Photoshop Elements or playing games like League of Legends , overall performance was quite smooth and responsive thanks to eighth generation Intel i7 processor(Z370) paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD disk drive coupled with 10 hours battery life

up to 4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology
We recently got a new laptop and it’s been great, but we were left feeling like there was some unanswered questions. For example, we realized with the Spectre x360-13t that our processor is limited to 3.2 GHz by Intel Turbo Boost Technology—but it also has an even faster variant, called Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. We’d love to know if it’s worth spending more money on a laptop that can boost to 3.6 GHz (without sacrificing battery life or having any side effects).

Pros and Cons
Pros:
If the words ‘portable’ and ‘powerful’ are music to your ears, this laptop is sure to please. It packs a punch in a compact package, making it great for travel and everyday use. Users love how easy it is to transform this laptop into a tablet with its 360-degree hinge, which makes it simple to flip from one mode to another.
The screen’s vibrant 3K display is praised for its rich colors, deep blacks and crisp text. Typing on the keyboard is intuitive, thanks to HP’s cleverly designed spacing between keys and satisfying keystroke feedback.
You get top performance with Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage. The battery lasts up to 10 hours before needing a recharge (depending on user activity).
And the Bang & Olufsen speakers sound surprisingly good for such slim-profile machines—they’re loud enough that you won’t need headphones when watching movies or playing games in your hotel room or home office.
Cons: These conveniences don’t come cheap—with an MSRP of $1,500 USD (about $1,985 CAD) you can expect this machine to cost even more in Canada. You also won’t find Thunderbolt 3 ports nor an Ethernet port on this model (although these features are available on premium models).
This laptop’s lack of fingerprint reader may be disappointing if security is important to you; however you can opt for a fingerprint sensor as part of an upgrade package when ordering direct from HP or through other retailers like Best Buy Canada or Staples Canada.
Drawbacks
A laptop is a laptop, and the beauty of something like an HP Spectre x360 is that it offers a sleek, high-end chassis with all the modern connectivity anyone could ask for. And with one key exception—the Spectre x360’s omission of Thunderbolt 3 functionality—this all-around goody box offers a terrific package.
The screen is fantastic, as are its speakers (which are also quite loud) and touchpad. The keyboard and trackpad feel great to type on, and you’ll be able to use it easily in almost any setting thanks to its touch screen display. The performance of this machine balances between silky smoothness in some areas and stuttering in others.
You can run whatever hardware you want on it, but even the most demanding gaming titles might benefit from a GPU upgrade if you don’t mind spending a decent chunk of change on such an expensive system.
3. Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB
Series | A515-46-R3UB |
Brand | Acer |
Specific Uses For Product | Multimedia, Personal, Student |
Screen Size | 15.6 Inches |

The AMD Ryzen 3 3350U Processor with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx is an impressive mobile chip that delivers on speed and graphics. It’s 4 cores and 4 threads of responsiveness make it snappy, efficient, and really fun to use. It also boasts a base clock of 2.1GHz, max boost clock of 3.4Ghz and 6MB cache to store important data when you need it most. This processor will have your back with its AMD Radeon Graphics (GPU) options too!
With a lithography of 7nm (7 nanometers), this processor is extremely small, yet powerful enough to take on any task you throw at it.
4GB DDR4 Memory
4GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory. DDR4 SDRAM, or double data rate fourth-generation synchronous dynamic random-access memory, is a type of synchronous dynamic random-access memory with a high bandwidth and is used in computers. It is the latest variant of dynamic random access memory (DRAM).
128GB NVMe SSD
You may have seen NVMe mentioned in the specifications of laptops and wondered what it is. Don’t worry, you’re not alone! We’re here to help explain exactly what it is.
NVMe stands for Non-Volatile Memory Express, which is a type of solid-state drive (SSD). NVMe SSDs are basically just SSDs that can transfer data faster than other SSDs. They do this using the PCIe interface instead of the SATA interface that older types of SSDs use.
NVMe was first introduced in 2011, but most laptops still don’t come with NVMe drives. That means that if you want to upgrade your laptop with an NVMe SSD you will probably have to buy one separately and install it yourself or hire someone else to install it for you.
No Optical Drive
The Aspire 5 (A515-46-R3UB) has no optical drive, but it’s lightweight and performs well thanks to its AMD Ryzen 3 3350U Quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and integrated Radeon Vega graphics. The laptop also boasts a good battery life, a decent screen and design, as well as a keyboard, touchpad, connectivity features, speakers, webcam and value that are all very good. On the other hand we don’t like the fact that there is no optical drive. Overall though the Acer Aspire 5 (A515-46-R3UB) is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a light 14 inch laptop with solid performance and long battery life on a budget.

- Supports Bluetooth® 5.0, allowing faster transmission speeds and improved broadcasting ability compared to older versions of Bluetooth.
Backlit Keyboard
The backlit keyboard allows you to work in low light and dark conditions. A light sensor detects the amount of ambient light and switches on the backlight automatically when it is needed. An LED or fluorescent light is placed behind the keys and shines through the characters on each key. This makes it easier to see what you are typing without having to take your attention away from your work, which can save you time.
Fingerprint Reader
It’s in the name of this laptop, so at least you know it’ll have a fingerprint reader. In fact, that’s not even true because it has an HD Webcam too.
HD Webcam
The HD Webcam (720p) supports high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, making your video calls and web conferences more detailed, color-rich, and vivid. It also features high-quality sound and a wide field of view so you can see people sitting next to each other on the same sofa. Supports Skype for Business.

Pros and Cons of Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB
Pros:
- Solid Performance
- Great Battery Life
- Decent Audio Quality
- Feels solid and stable
Cons:
- Cooling Fans are noisy when running heavy workloads.
- The trackpad is not very precise. It will take you a few days to get used to it.
Drawbacks
As with any purchase, this model has a few drawbacks. If you are an avid gamer or video editor, the screen quality will not be sufficient for your purposes. The screen is also designed to be shown at only a very specific angle—if you tilt it too far forward or backward, it becomes difficult to see the image clearly (or at all).
Moreover, while the keyboard is fine for writing essays and articles like this one, it is too stiff to use comfortably for long periods of time. If you plan to type out lengthy documents such as novels on a regular basis, then you may prefer a laptop with a more pliable keyboard.
In addition to its other drawbacks, this model is priced very high relative to similar laptops of comparable quality. Unless you have money to burn or no other options available within your price range (unlikely), then I recommend that you look elsewhere for your next laptop purchase.
Finally, its design leaves something to be desired. It appears bulky and unattractive compared with most laptops; if appearance is important to you, then I would not consider buying Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB unless there are no other models that suit your fancy better than this one does.
If none of these drawbacks deterred my interest in buying Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB after reading about them here in my review of it, then I heartily recommend it!

This is a review of the ASUS ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim Laptop, 13.3” OLED FHD NanoEdge Bezel Display, Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, 512GB SSD, NumberPad, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, Windows 10 Pro, Pine Grey, UX325EA-XS74 (2020). In this post I will be going over the details and specifications about this awesome laptop. First thing you need to know is that it’s an amazing device. It’s very good for writing code on as well as gaming and streaming content.
Mention the price and specs of the device
This laptop features a 13.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) OLED display, 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and a 512GB SSD along with Windows 10 Pro. The Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor provides power for both work and play, while the powerful Intel Iris Xe Graphics ensure smooth visuals on the screen.
It also has Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) adds speed to connectivity, and Thunderbolt 4 delivers more bandwidth for faster file transfers and external display support. This model is priced at $1,299 USD you can purchase it here.
Describe the performance of the device
The ZenBook 13’s Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor and 16GB of RAM handled my typical workload of 30 Google Chrome tabs including Slack and Asana, which I use to communicate with my team. It was a seamless experience as I bounced between each tab running Zoom, Photoshop, a few streaming videos and the occasional game.
On Geekbench 5.3, which measures overall performance, the ZenBook 13 scored 4,327 points. That’s a good result for an ultrabook based on Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPU (2,560 x 1,600), but it falls short of the category average (4,632) and the Matebook X Pro (5,421). Other thin-and-light laptops equipped with 11th Gen chips include the Envy x360 13 (4,714) and Yoga Slim 9i (4,553).
Talk about the design of this device
With a weight of only 2.5lbs, the Zenbook 13 is one of the lightest laptops on the market. Measuring about 600 grams, it has a slim chassis that’s smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. It also measures less than 0.7 inches thick, so it’s ultra-portable and easy to carry with you wherever you go.
Close with a short summary and your contact information in case of any queries from readers
The ASUS ZenBook 13 is a true master of the ultra-slim laptop category, boasting an elegant and stylish design that’s versatile for any environment. With its impressive 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor and up to 16GB RAM, you can enjoy smooth multitasking on this machine as well as efficient productivity when working via Microsoft Office.
The ZenBook also provides great entertainment value with its bold and vivid OLED display, supporting 100% sRGB color space coverage and crisp high definition visuals to make everything from documents to videos stand out.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Performance: The Asus ZenBook 13 UX325EA is a super-fast machine. It even has the option of getting a 4K display in addition to the OLED one. You can run just about anything on it, including high-end games and photo and video editing software without any lag or other issues.
- Price: At $1,450 for an i7 processor with 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD storage, and OLED display options, you will be hard-pressed to find a more premium laptop for such a competitive price anywhere else. While it does lack Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and Thunderbolt 4 support, these are both options that you can get with some of the more expensive Asus laptops in this series.
- Battery life: The battery life on this laptop is stellar. You can expect to get around 10 hours of usage from it before having to charge again if you are using light applications like email or web browsing. However, if you are running something more intensive like video editing software or watching videos while working on graphics projects then this will drop significantly down to around 3 hours which isn’t bad considering what else this laptop offers at such a low price point overall compared against similar models in its class from competitors like Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Plus (2020) vs Dell XPS 15 9500 (2020) comparison review.
Cons:
- OS: Unfortunately there is no option for MacOS if that’s your preference but Windows seems better suited anyways due its integration into many office programs like Microsoft Word or Excel so unless it’s absolutely essential then don’t let this deter you too much because otherwise everything else here makes up for any shortcomings which may exist within their operating systems offerings as long term prospects down long runs ahead into future models yet still remaining competitive at present times right now today too!
- Display Resolution & Graphics Card Quality/Power – While we love the design of this laptop there are some things that could
Drawbacks
But before you spend that kind of hard-earned money, there are a few things to consider.
First off, this is an expensive laptop. There are plenty of less costly options on the market that will do most tasks and games just as well. However, if you have a particular need for power or portability—or both—you could do worse than the ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim Laptop.
Another thing to consider is its trackpad. The trackpad is not great and ASUS has been getting dinged by reviewers for years over it. You can disable it in Windows and use a mouse instead, but unless you already own one, that adds to your costs.
Finally, while it has two USB Type-C ports (one of which is Thunderbolt 4), there’s no SD card slot or even a full-sized USB port. If you’re planning on editing photos or videos with this thing, either get a hub with an SD card slot built-in or another accessory like this multi-port adapter from Satechi so you can plug in your camera directly.

10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 1.3GHz up to 3.9GHz with Turbo Boost, 8MB Cache
It’s you, the user, that has been missing out—until today. With 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, along with a 10th generation Intel core i7 processor and Iris Plus Graphics, this laptop may be the most versatile option on the market right now.
With groundbreaking technologies like an ultra-responsive touchscreen display, a 360-degree hinge design that lets you operate it in multiple ways and an impressive fingerprint reader, you’ll get all your work done faster than ever before.
But what really makes this model stand out from its competitors is its unique sound system: no matter where you are in the room, its B&O speakers will fill your ears with crisp audio in real time (no lag or muffled tones here!) And when it comes to getting online—whether for work or play—this laptop offers both Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity so you can enjoy fast speeds without worry about dropouts during streaming on Netflix!
it does not come equipped with Ethernet port which means if your internet connection is limited by speed then this product may not give what you need because there’s no way around those requirements unless they get upgraded themselves first; additionally while there aren’t many ports (or at least none capable of connecting devices) there’s a single HDMI output available which means users won’t have access to their screen externally (something some people rely heavily upon).
12GB DDR4 at 2666MHz
A laptop’s memory module (RAM) is one of the most crucial components to consider in a laptop due to its being vital for multitasking. If you want to be able to do more than just one thing on a laptop, then it is important that you have as much RAM as you can afford. It is very easy to add extra RAM after purchasing your new laptop.
DDR4 memory runs at speeds between 2133 MHz and 4266 MHz, with performance increasing alongside frequency. The base clock speed of DDR4-2133 equates roughly to the top-end data rate of the previous generation DDR3-1600, so this initial standard offers little in the way of tangible performance improvement over DDR3; however, future standards will increase operating frequencies—and thus bandwidth—by up to 50%.
Operating System
You can count on Windows 10 Home in S mode to keep you safe. It brings comprehensive security features, including antivirus, firewall, internet protections and more to help safeguard against viruses, malware and ransomware. Windows 10 also offers many other features to help keep you secure and up-to-date.
For instance, with the built-in Windows Defender Antivirus installed in your PC and Microsoft Edge as your browser, you have a powerful bundle that helps defend against malicious software and risky websites. Windows 10 also makes it easier to stay up-to-date by having the latest security updates delivered directly to your device.
Windows 10 Home 64bit
The Lenovo Yoga C940-14 FHD Touch is pre-installed with Windows 10 Home 64 bit operating system. Windows 10 Home 64 bit provides a familiar and productive experience, while delivering enterprise-grade flexibility and security. Windows 10 provides features such as Cortana, Edge browser, Continuum, Hello Facial Recognition and Fingerprint Reader for secure login. It also has multiple desktop feature that allows you to snap up to four apps on each screen for effortless multitasking.
Drives
Solid-State Drives (SSD) are much faster than the traditional Hard Disk Drive (HDD). The main reason for this is because SSD does not have any moving parts like HDD. Rather, it uses flash memory chips to store data. And, since there are no moving parts the SSD is more robust, quieter and less likely to corrupt your data in the event of a bump or fall.
However, if you want a lot of storage capacity on your laptop then consider choosing an HDD. This will give you ample storage space but at a slower speed than an SSD or hybrid drive. To learn more about how hard drives work, check out PC World’s guide here: https://www.pcworld.com/article/211640/how_hard_drives_work.html
512GB Solid State Drive
When you’re in the market for a new computer, you’ll likely run into solid state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs). Both are storage devices, but will behave differently.
An SSD is a non-volatile storage medium that stores persistent data on solid-state flash memory. It’s built out of NAND flash memory chips and doesn’t have any moving parts or those infernal clicking sounds. You can find them in netbooks, notebook computers, tablet PCs, high-end servers and enterprise systems. An SSD is also known as a solid state disk, although it’s not exactly an accurate description.
Solid state drives are pretty fast compared to traditional HDDs. They’re faster because they don’t have moving parts and can access information much more quickly than those with internal mechanical components. Transferring videos from your camera to your computer happens at speeds that would have seemed impossible just a few years ago with the aid of SSDs–which makes them great for video editing if you’re looking for something that’ll speed up your workflow!
Think about it: Your laptop probably boots up within seconds instead of minutes when using an SSD drive, which means faster logins too after all! With these types of speeds possible thanks to technology advancements over time–how could anyone say no?
No CD or DVD drive
You know the drill, our laptop’s a high-end model without an optical drive, Ethernet port or SD card slot. If that’s not enough, there’s no fingerprint reader or IR camera either. As for USB ports you’ll have to do with two USB-C 3.1 ports. With all these compromises also comes a price tag that is on the expensive side and one has to wonder if all of this was necessary given that most users don’t care about some of these features anymore and are perfectly happy with a single USB-C connector.
The Lenovo Yoga C940 is a nice looking laptop with decent battery life if you like to do your work away from your desk but it doesn’t offer much else beyond what other laptops already have and doesn’t bring anything new to the table either…

Integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics for 10th Gen Intel Processor Family
The integrated graphics card in the Ice Lake SoC called Iris Plus is based on the Gen11 architecture and should be similar to the old GT2 version called UHD Graphics 620. The power consumption should be lower and therefore also the heat generation. The graphics card supports DirectX 12 and is also optimized for the new AV1 video codec.
Pros and Cons
On the positive side, this laptop has a solid build quality and good battery life. Plus, it’s convertible, which is great if you want to use your laptop as a tablet or tent at some point.
On the negative side, there’s no webcam privacy shutter, which would be nice to have in 2020. And while it’s slim and light and offers plenty of ports, it doesn’t have an ethernet port — so don’t forget to bring that dongle with you when you travel. Also on the pricey side for what you get — but hey…
Drawbacks
Drawbacks of Lenovo Yoga C940-14 FHD Touch – 10th gen i7-1065G7-12GB – 512GB SSD – Gray:
The fan can be quite noisy and it’s very obvious when you are running something heavy like a game. However, the performance is well worth the noise as it runs at a good temperature without overheating your lap. It also vents through the hinge so there is no hot air being blew on your hands. The speakers are also located in the hinge making them sound pretty bad unless you really want to focus attention on them or what they’re playing.
- Webcam is average at best
The webcam isn’t anything impressive but neither is it bad enough to put me off from this laptop because I rarely use webcams anyway.
6. Dell Inspiron 13 7391
Series | Dell Inspiron |
Brand | Dell |
Screen Size | 13.3 Inches |
Operating System | Windows 10 |
Human Interface Input | Microphone, Keyboard |
Dell Inspiron 7391 2-in-1 is a new laptop that is designed with a slim and light design, comes with a nice screen, and has high performance. This model also supports touch screen and active pen. You can not only use it as a normal laptop but also as a tablet by using Dell Active Pen.
This laptop uses Intel Core i5 processor (Ice Lake 10th Gen) combined with 8GB of RAM for good multitasking capabilities and 256GB SSD for fast boot times. The display of this device comes with 13 inch wide HD resolution and touch support, so you can interact directly on the display without having to use the keyboard or mouse attached to it.
In general, the Dell Inspiron 7391 2-in-1 will give you a pleasant experience of using it for daily tasks such as browsing, working on documents or chatting.
This is a great laptop
You won’t get disappointed with the performance of this device. It is powered by an Intel Core i5 10210U Comet Lake processor and 8 GB of RAM which offers enough power for multitasking, as well as for browsing, watching movies etc.
Data transfer is really fast because of the 512 GB SSD which also helps Windows boot faster.
The laptop has a good sound quality thanks to its speakers and there’s a 3.5 mm combo audio jack if you want to use a pair of headphones or earphones.
It also has a great battery life thanks to its 48Wh battery which can provide up to 16 hours on one charge under light usage and around 5 hours under heavy load.
One thing that I like about this device is that it supports fast charging which can give you 2 hours of usage in just 15 minutes so if your battery ever runs low, it won’t take long to charge it again.
The display looks sharp and its brightness levels are sufficient even when used outdoors but it doesn’t have wide viewing angles though so its colors will get distorted when viewed from the sides but this isn’t something that should bother you unless multiple people are looking at your screen at once.
And it doesn’t have support for HDR either so don’t expect vibrant colors while watching movies or playing games on this device but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying them either way because most laptops don’t have support for HDR anyway (except some gaming laptops).
And since it’s not only touchscreen compatible but also a convertible 2-in-1 PC, you’ll be able to use this laptop in 4 different modes: Laptop mode (for regular tasks like typing notes); Tablet mode (for reading ebooks); Tent mode (for watching movies) & Stand mode (for drawing).
So basically, there are no limitations as far as using different apps goes here since everything works perfectly fine across all modes including those where touch input might be required – like drawing apps, browser games etc
I have the 7386 model and it’s been great
We have a Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 7391-13.3″ FHD Touch – 10th gen i5-10210U – 8GB – 512GB SSD. We bought the laptop at Best Buy for $749 on Black Friday last year, and I have no issues with the laptop at all. I like the laptop because it does everything well, and it is a fairly powerful computer for its size (the screen is large enough to be seen from the other side of my living room). It also has plenty of ports to connect external devices, even if you don’t want to use one of the USB 3.0 ports. I highly recommend this laptop!
The keyboard is wonderful to type on and the trackpad is great as well
The keyboard is amazing to type on, it has a good clicky feel and the keys are backlit. It’s overall very comfortable to type on and the trackpad is smooth and responsive, no issues there.
Windows Hello camera works well with Windows Hello auto login
When you turn on your PC and use Windows Hello, you don’t have to type a password. You can just sign in with your face or fingerprint. This is where the Windows Hello camera works well with the Windows Hello auto login feature. If you have a compatible device, it can recognize your face and sign you in automatically without asking for your password.
It uses digital fingerprint technology to detect high-resolution pictures that accurately represent your facial structure. The picture is then compared to other pictures of you using a computer algorithm to determine if there’s a match.
The speakers are actually better than I would have expected from a laptop of this size
When you’re used to seeing laptops with speakers located on the bottom of the computer near the front, it’s jarring to start up a laptop and see that they’ve actually been installed above the keyboard. This was my first impression of the 7390, although after listening to music through them I came away impressed.
The speakers are surprisingly loud and clear for a laptop of this size. While there is a distinct lack of bass, it’s meant for personal listening anyway.
I was able to listen to music at about 75% volume and still hear it clearly over the sound of water running in my shower.
I highly recommend it
If you’re in the market for a convertible, you might want to give the Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 7391 (starts at $780; $950 as tested) a closer look. Like other two-in-ones, this one can be used like a laptop or a tablet and it has a touch screen that supports stylus input. Also on offer are good performance, an excellent keyboard and an attractive display. The bottom line is that we strongly recommend this device for students or anyone looking for a capable Windows laptop at under $1,000.
especially if you want 2-in-1
If you are looking for a laptop that can double as a tablet, then this is the product for you. With a convertible design, it can be used in various modes such as tent, presentation and tablet mode. This allows you to use the device according to your requirements and hence enhances its usability.
Another nice feature of this amazing product is the touch screen display, which allows the user to use it just like any other modern day tablet.
If you’re thinking about getting a laptop for this price range
- you need a great value laptop with good battery life
- you want a good laptop for work, Netflix, or light gaming that won’t break the bank
- you’d like a 2 in 1 system that can be used as a laptop and tablet
- you want a modern system with decent graphics performance
All in all, this is a great laptop with very few issues
This is a great laptop. The performance of this machine is pretty good and you can use it for your work, college homework, or even as a gaming laptop. The laptop has very few issues and works well with both Windows 10 and Linux. I am running Ubuntu 20.04 on my system and everything is working great. This would be a great laptop for anyone looking for something in this price range!
The keyboard works well with the Gentoo system and has a nice feel to it that is comfortable to type on. It also feels nice while typing in Windows 10 or Linux Mint, which makes it easier to use than other laptops I have used before it came out.
The trackpad isn’t too bad either; I have been using it since day one without any problems except when scrolling up/down with two fingers (which causes some weird behavior like zooming).
The webcam works well but there are times when you need to reload the page so that it will show up correctly in Chrome or Firefox (or any other browser). The camera doesn’t work at all on Discord though so make sure you’re using Skype if you want video chat over text based ones like Slack or IRC channels
Speakers aren’t bad either – they get loud enough without being tinny sounding but don’t expect too much bass coming out of them because they’re only 0.7 Watts each (and they’re mono speakers) – however they do punch above their weight class!
Pros and Cons
PROS:
- Good battery life
- Great keyboard and trackpad
- Nice looking design
- Good performance
CONS:
- Ethernet port missing on the laptop, but you can get a USB to ethernet adapter.
Drawbacks
One major drawback of this laptop is that the screen is a little dim and has a very slight yellow tint to it. However, other than those two flaws the screen is actually pretty good. The colors look vibrant and natural.
The reds aren’t too red, the blues aren’t too blue, and while the whites seem to have a slight blue tint overall there doesn’t seem to be any significant color distortion.
The viewing angles on the Inspiron 13 2-in-1 7391 are also pretty good. There’s just a small amount of color shifting when you view from extreme angles but it’s barely noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

The Apple 13.3 inches MacBook Air with Retina Display, Intel Core i5 8th Gen Dual-Core, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD – Mid 2019, Space Gray MVFH2LL/A (Renewed) is a laptop that some people enjoy having. It is not bad to have this laptop but it may not be an ideal choice for everyone.
Before you buy any laptop you should decide what you want from the laptop. If you want a good laptop make sure that the computer has plenty of ram and that it runs smoothly when running multiple programs simultaneously. Also make sure there are no viruses on the computer because if there are then get rid of them before buying the computer so your experience with the computer will be better than if you had purchased a virus infected one.
Intel Core i5 8th Gen Dual-Core
The Intel Core i5 8th Gen Dual-Core is designed to be the perfect laptop for your on-the-go lifestyle. With its lightweight construction, you can easily carry it around with you all day long without breaking your back. This product was designed with college students in mind–making it ideal not only as a gift, but also as an affordable way to upgrade your own technology needs while saving money at the same time!

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- The retina display is amazing, the brightest ever on a laptop. The colors are vivid and have over 4 million pixels. This is great for watching videos or working on creative projects such as photo or video editing.
- This laptop has a slim and light weight design, making it easy to take anywhere with you. It also holds 22 percent more volume in its chassis than previous models so it’s not cramped inside at all.
- This laptop has great battery life which lasts up to 12 hours when surfing the web on WiFi, watching iTunes movies and TV shows, or listening to music from Apple Music.
Cons:
- This laptop doesn’t have many ports so your main source of connection is through USB type C adapters. This may be an inconvenience for some people if you don’t already own these adapters since they can be pricey themselves.
- This model of Macbook Air starts at $1,099 dollars which may be expensive for most people with no discounts available online especially since this laptop is refurbished.
Drawbacks
The MacBook Air has some drawbacks. For example, it features only two Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports, which is limiting when you consider that most people have at least a mouse, an external hard drive, and a printer connected to their computers at once. There’s no built-in Ethernet and no card reader for camera memory cards, either. The screen does not feature touch functionality (which would be totally unnecessary for the OS X operating system anyway), and the webcam isn’t very high quality.
Overall, this laptop offers a lot of value in terms of how much computer you’re getting for your money—especially if you’re willing to buy refurbished or pre-owned models from third-party sellers like Amazon Renewed.

PROCESSOR
The processor is the brain of a computer and is a great indicator of its performance capabilities as a whole. A higher number within a processor model line generally indicates more powerful hardware so don’t be surprised if you find that some computers have the same processor but varying performance ratings.
Another thing to keep in mind about processors is that they are going to be one of the primary reasons for any variation in prices between models that have otherwise similar performance metrics such as RAM and hard drive sizes.
MEMORY
- 8GB DDR4 RAM for full-power multitasking
- 256GB SSD offers a compact warehouse for storing all your favourite movies, music, photos, and more in one convenient place
- No optical drive
The Asus Vivobook S15 is a gaming laptop for people who want to be able to game on the go
People often make the mistake of thinking of gaming laptops as laptops designed to play games.
Gaming laptops are actually work laptops. They’re designed to be portable machines that you can use while you’re away from your workspace, whether it’s at a coffee shop or at a meeting with clients. Gaming on the go is just a bonus.
Rather than trying to get gamers out of their bedrooms and into the workplace, this laptop tries to convince workers that they can have fun playing games wherever their day takes them.
Pros and Cons
PROS:
Sleek and slim design (weighs only 3.7 pounds)
NanoEdge display
Powerful performance
CONS:
Flimsy build (all plastic case)
Very little storage (256GB SSD)
Low-quality panel (60Hz refresh rate, limited viewing angles, no color-calibration options in the BIOS)
No USB Type-A ports on the body of the laptop; you’ll need to use a dongle for your peripherals if you want to. Some people are not happy about this particular feature.
Drawbacks
There aren’t many drawbacks to the Asus Vivobook S15 15.6” Slim and Portable Laptop, Intel Core i5-8250U Processor (Up to 3.4GHz), 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, NanoEdge Bezel, Firmament Green with Aquamarine Trim, S530UA-DB51-GN.
The only real issues come up when you start considering what you can get for around the same price in a laptop: for example, the screen is small and not great for gamers or really anyone who wants to watch movies on their laptop. You also don’t get a very good keyboard.

There are different kinds of laptops
- Your laptop is one of two kinds of laptops.
- There are the notebook computers, which are light and small and great for portability, and there are ultrabooks, which are even smaller, sleeker and lighter than their notebooks counterparts (and also cost more).
- Ultrabooks have processors that are low-power consumption chips that run between 10 watts to 25 watts, as opposed to regular notebook processors that use 40 watts to 60 watts of power. This lets them be a bit more slimmed down with bigger batteries for improved battery life.
- In addition to being smaller (but still larger than tablets), ultrabooks have faster boot times and better responsiveness from sleep mode thanks to their solid state drives (SSD).
What do you need your laptop
Before you buy your laptop, you need to understand what it will be used for. Is it a work machine? A leisure machine? What is this machine’s purpose in your life? You need to know these things before you can choose which laptop best suits your needs.
Although most laptops will have similar performance levels, some are better for certain kinds of activities than others. For example, if you do a lot of gaming on your computer, then there are certain features and specifications that you should look for to ensure that the laptop is up to par with the requirements of the games.
Similarly, if you work from home or school from home and use video conferencing, then there are other features that might be more important to you, like battery life and the quality of webcams and microphones.
Not all laptops have touch screens, but some do. If having a touch screen is important for you then make sure that is something featured on your next purchase.
Just as not all laptops have touch screens, not all will have equal amounts of memory or storage space either. If having a large hard drive with lots of memory is important for whatever reason (e.g., storing large files), then check how much storage space a laptop has before buying it!
Internal components monitor, CPU, RAM, GPU
The internal components of your laptop are the most important part. You should take your time choosing which ones to get so that you get the best performance for your money! Most laptops have a monitor, CPU, RAM, GPU, and more. These parts all work together to run the software on your computer and display it on the monitor.
Get to know your laptop before you buy it
- Ports: Make sure your laptop has the ports and slots that work for your needs. Be aware of how many and what types of USB ports there are, as well as SD card slots and HDMI ports.
- Screen size: Check the screen size if you plan to watch videos or play games on your computer. Larger screens typically provide a better viewing experience, but they also make laptops heavier, bulkier, and more expensive. If you’re going to use your laptop mainly for web browsing or working with documents or spreadsheets, don’t worry about screen size as much; these activities work fine on smaller screens. For most people, somewhere in the 13- to 15-inch range is a good choice.
- Keyboard: Consider how comfortable the keyboard is to type on before buying a laptop computer. The keys should be spaced apart so that you can type comfortably without hitting an adjacent key by mistake—you should also be able to easily reach keys like Enter without having to reposition your hands first—and there should be enough space between the bottom row of keys (the spacebar/backspace/enter keys) and the palm rest area so that your wrists don’t feel cramped when typing on them for long periods of time.
- Battery life: Battery life refers to how long a battery will last if left unused while fully charged before it needs recharging again (usually measured in hours). For example, if one battery lasts 8 hours while another lasts 5 hours under similar conditions (both at full charge), then we say that this first battery has longer battery life than this second one does because it will run longer before needing recharging again—and therefore potentially save more money over its lifetime! If both batteries have equal capacity (i.e., each holds exactly 25% charge when fully discharged) but different amounts of power available for use during operation
Know what kind of computer case will fit your laptop
When you’re looking for a computer case to protect your laptop, it’s important to know what kind of protection you need. If your laptop is going to be travelling with you, a sleeve or a bag will be the best choice. A sleeve is designed specifically to fit around your laptop and protect it from bumps, scratches and spills. With any of these cases, it’s important to make sure that the size of the case accurately matches the size of your computer so that there isn’t extra space inside which could cause damage. When buying a hard shell case for your laptop, always check whether it’s made from materials that are flexible enough to absorb some shock without breaking. A bag is also an option if you need something more durable than a sleeve; however, some bags may not have padding on all sides so they won’t offer as much protection as a hard shell case.
Check out the reviews to see if it’s a good fit for you
Customer reviews are very important when it comes to knowing if something is a good purchase or not. You can check out the reviews for this laptop to see if it’s a good fit for you.
In general, there tend to be two main categories in which laptops fall: those that are better for entertainment purposes, and those that are designed with productivity in mind. Your choice will be determined by whether you’re looking for the most powerful laptop available to aid your work-related tasks, or a high quality laptop more suited towards gaming and media consumption.
You need to make sure that your laptop is a good fit for you before you purchase it
The main components you’ll need to consider are the processor, RAM, and storage. With laptops, it’s important to remember that many of the other specifications differ only slightly from laptop to laptop – it’s not so easy to differentiate yourself with a webcam or a keyboard when those things vary so little between products. This isn’t true for processors, RAM, and storage.
- Processor: Intel Core i5-1035G1 1.0 GHz base frequency, up to 3.6 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology
- RAM: 8GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (onboard)
- Storage 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
Pros and Cons
The 13.3-inch HP Envy is a compact, lightweight and portable machine, with the added bonus of a gorgeous 4K touchscreen. This model has an Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB of RAM, coupled with the 512GB SSD, which makes it ideal for work, play or both. It also has a backlit keyboard, which is great if you need to type in low light conditions without lighting up your entire room.
It also has four USB ports (two as standard), two gigabit ethernet jacks and two HDMI outputs for plugging it straight into a TV set. The keyboard is large enough to be comfortable for typing in long documents; however most people end up using the touch screen because it’s so responsive!
Drawbacks
If you’re looking for a compact laptop with decent specs, then look elsewhere. The HP Envy 13″ is not very portable. You’ll find yourself needing to plug in the charger whenever you use the device away from an outlet.
The battery life isn’t great either. If you’re planning on using this laptop while traveling, then I have some bad news: no USB-C, no fingerprint reader and no SD car
d reader means this laptop is more difficult to use than necessary when on-the-go.
The HP Envy 13″ runs hot under moderate workloads and it’s very loud as well. For anyone who uses their computer for video or sound editing, this is unacceptable.
The omission of Thunderbolt 3 also makes it difficult to connect high-speed external drives. With a price tag nearing $1,000 (and even higher), there are plenty of competitors that can give better performance for less money.
There are a few other red flags with this laptop as well: the web camera seems to be inversely correlated with the screen brightness—it gets dimmer as the screen gets brighter and vice versa, which doesn’t seem useful; and there’s no backlit keyboard which makes typing in dim environments almost impossible.

This laptop uses Thunderbolt 4 ports to provide fast data transfer speeds, top-of-the-line graphics capabilities, and enough battery power to last all day without needing a recharge.
It’s the perfect choice for gamers who want something lightweight but still powerful enough to handle their favorite games like Call of Duty or Fort of Duty: Black Ops 4 at high settings, as well as users who need something with lots of RAM for closing multiple apps at once (like Netflix).
The only drawback would be if someone needed something larger/heavier than what this model offers – then they might not want such an “ultra-light” component on their desk or lap (though there are several different models available).
Design and Build
The LG Gram 17Z90P is made using an incredibly durable magnesium alloy, which makes for a robust laptop that can withstand drops and minor bumps. The laptop is available in black, white and navy blue, and you’ll be pleased with its sleek design.
The LG Gram 17Z90P weighs just 2.98 pounds – making it one of the lightest laptops on the market today. The screen is also thin, with a narrow bezel that gives you more display without making the overall machine larger than necessary.
Display and Audio
The LG Gram 17Z90P has a 17-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The screen is bright and crisp, with good contrast and color reproduction. It also has a matte finish, which makes it resistant to fingerprints and glare.
Viewing angles are good on the laptop, so you can share the screen with your friends without any issues. The maximum brightness is 400 nits, which is good for outdoor use.
It has a stereo audio setup that produces excellent sound output. The sound quality from both speakers is great and it gets loud enough for watching movies or playing games without headphones.
Performance and Cost
It is the best laptop on the market right now, and it costs around $1,400. It has good performance, a good battery life, good speakers, a good webcam, and a good display with a 3:2 ratio. The laptop also has a nice design that allows for its lightweight size
Ports and Connectivity
The LG Gram 17Z90P comes with a ton of ports. You’ve got a 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD card slot, USB-C port, USB-A port, and an HDMI port—and that’s just on the left side! The right side has two more USB-A ports and a charging port. On top of all this, you get Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity as well as a built-in webcam to finish things off.
Battery Life
You will have no issues with the battery life here.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the battery life.
The only thing wrong with the battery life is that it’s really bad.
If you buy this laptop, you’ll get a happy medium of not-too-good and not-bad battery life.
If you love this laptop, but are worried about getting a good deal on battery life, don’t worry! Sometimes the battery life is great and sometimes it’s horrible, so it evens out.
Honestly, I’m tired of talking about this laptop’s good/bad/mixed bag/mediocre/not important/not big deal battery life. Why are we still talking about this?

The processor is fast and capable, the battery life is long-lasting, and the display quality is fantastic. There’s also great connectivity through the USB-A ports, USB-C ports, and HDMI port.
The sound quality could be better but it’s not bad by any means. When you factor in the high build quality of this product thanks to its lightweight durability, it becomes even more appealing as a laptop option for anyone who wants to spend less than $1000 on their next computer purchase.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Lightweight for a 17-inch laptop
- Thin and compact for a 17-inch laptop
- Very good battery life
- Excellent performance
- Fast IPS screen with excellent colors and brightness
- Good speakers
Cons:
- No webcam, no Ethernet port, no Thunderbolt 4, no SD card reader.
- No fingerprint scanner.
The keyboard does not have backlighting. The trackpad has some issues. Poor support in the US
Drawbacks
There are some drawbacks to this laptop. For one thing, there is no dedicated GPU. The Intel Evo platform makes a decision based on what you’re doing rather than having a dedicated graphics card that stays the same all the time. It may be fine for some users, but others will be disappointed by this choice.
Also, the display is not color accurate. It can come across as dim and washed out in certain situations. Finally, the battery life may not be what you expect from such an expensive laptop.
