The best laptop for voice over recording, is a laptop that has the power to run high-end software and plugins that you may need to use.
This may seem like an obvious choice, but if you’re just starting out, there are a lot of people that will just buy a cheap laptop from their local chain store and start recording.
That’s not necessarily bad, as long as your expectations are low. You can still get some decent recordings with a low-end laptop or computer, but you won’t be able to get great quality.
The problem is that many new voice over artists will be disappointed with the initial quality of their recordings, thinking that they are doing something wrong because they are getting static and noise in their recordings.
I know this because I used to record with a cheap laptop myself when I first started out in the business.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a budget-friendly gaming laptop with solid performance and a tasteful, gaming-oriented design. It’s also one of few inexpensive gaming notebooks that I’ve tested that has an IPS display. The screen offers good color and wide viewing angles, but the display itself isn’t very bright.
The Nitro 5 is a good value, but it doesn’t have a lot of storage space on its SSD (only 256GB), which means you’ll need to use an external hard drive to store your games and other media. Also, Acer places the Nitro 5’s speakers on the front edge of the system, so they’re easily blocked if you’re using a mouse or gamepad.
The Nitro 5’s 15.6-inch display looks decent for what you’re paying for. Despite having just a modest resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and not being particularly bright at 210 nits, the screen offers above-average color reproduction thanks to its IPS panel. The panel covers 110 percent of the sRGB color gamut; most budget gaming laptops barely break 100 percent.
